Kody Brown Wants Meri Brown to Leave Him – Why Won’t She Leave Her ‘Sister Wives’ Husband?
Kody Brown makes it clear on the Sister Wives: One on One Tell-All that Meri Brown can leave him anytime she wants. He goes even further and seems to try and push her out the door. He shut her off from intimacy too. So, why is she still sticking around?

Meri Brown planted her feet and she’s not budging. Despite Kody Brown having very little to do with her, she stays in the marriage. For years, fans begged her to make a new life for herself. But she opts to stay in a loveless marriage.
It’s more than loveless. On the One on One reunion this Sunday, Kody reveals his real feelings. His voice is full of outrage talking about Meri. Host Sukanya Krishnan jumps in with both feet and pushes his buttons about his first marriage.
Then, when Meri’s on the couch, she brings up her catfishing scandal and how it hurt Kody. His first wife agrees it hurt. But she thought they hashed it out long ago. So, she seems perplexed over Kody using this as an excuse again as seen on TLC’s promo.
Kody Brown Paves the Way on Sister Wives: One on One
The family patriarch wants nothing to do with Meri beyond friendship. Kody makes this quite clear on the upcoming Sister Wives Tell-All this Sunday. He claims they went through years of counseling. But he says this further convinced him that Meri will never change.
He said Meri Brown cheated on him with her online romance. Remember, she didn’t know for a while she was being catfished. He says she thought she fell in love with a “better, richer man”. And Kody says she told everyone she was leaving him for this “guy”.

Despite this, Kody claims she still sees herself as a victim. And he says she won’t accept any blame for her part in this. Meanwhile, Meri denies ever planning to leave him. There’s still a lot of heated he-said-she-said going on behind the scenes, it seems.
Meri Sticks with Husband – And He Says He’s Trapped
On the Tell-All, Kody says he can’t leave Meri Brown but she can leave him. He says it’s a double standard. Fans assumed he means this double standard is core to their plural marriage. He’s always said their religion was the foundation of their polygamous lifestyle.
So, the father of 18 tells Sukanya on Sister Wives: One on One that he doesn’t consider his first wife as a spouse. He doesn’t share any intimacy with her anymore. And according to Kody Brown, he told Meri in several different ways that they are over.
But, she still stays glued to Kody. But why stay when he says they’ll never have a real marriage and when he’s still clearly so angry? Is Meri afraid of being alone? She talked about the loneliness during COVID.
Everyone else in their plural marriage had family around — but not her. And despite Kody Brown’s outrage, she says she loves “this man”. And she’s not going anywhere. Even with Kody paving the way, she doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
