‘Married At First Sight’: Michaela Clark Flips Out And Dips – Recap

On Married At First Sight Michaela Clark flips when she wakes up alone after finally reuniting with Zack Freeman back in Houston. Johnny Lam can’t last one night back home when Bao Huong Hoang says she won’t shower before bed. Rachel Gordillo gets freaked out by Jose San Miguel’s budget board. And Pastor Cal Roberson pays a visit to all the couples. Pour the wine like Ryan Ignasiak as we check out Season 13 Episode 7 Home Not Alone.

Michaela Bolts On Married At First Sight

Michaela Clark missed out on her honeymoon with Zack Freeman when he tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving. She never even so much as unpacked a bikini or dipped a toe in the water before flying back home to Houston. Zack stayed behind with the others at the Shell House Villages, an assisted living community nestled in the quiet Florida keys. Just joking of course. Thanks Myrla Feria for adding some humor to a so far bland season of MAFS.

On Married At First Sight, Zack quarantined while watching the other couples pretend to like planned outdoorsy activities and each other. His only fun was the few times Ryan Ignasiak and Johnny Lam launched Coors Lights up to his balcony. Zack is pumped to get back to Houston and his wife who he knew for 3 hours plus a plane ride. Michaela is pumped too and already has a framed picture in her apartment from her wedding. This much early excitement spells doom.

The couple reunite and even have a meet and greet with their dogs. All is fine until Zack takes his dog into another bedroom to sleep and decides to sleep there too. He wakes up early to take her to doggy daycare and doesn’t wake a sleeping Michaela who flips out when she realize he’s gone and doesn’t answer a text. She slams things around and packs up her ish and leaves. Leaves. When the day before she called out that kind of reaction immature.

Johnny Tells Bao Her Attitude Isn’t The Only Thing That Stinks

In the luxury high rise No Love Lost Lofts where all the Married At First Sight cast shacks up for a reality check, something stinks. And according to Johnny Lam it’s his week old bride Bao Huong Hoang. Not only does she tell him she’s not planning to follow his “don’t bring your workout to bed” rule. But she does a thorough sweep of the apartment to complain about various things Myrla Feria style. But even the resident Season 13 MAFS princess approves of the apartments so Bao is nitpicking.

Or, as Johnny prefers to put it: “she takes the fun out of everything.” Johnny decides to be up front and tell Bao that after he eats his vacuum sealed dinner courtesy of production he will be leaving to go home for a few days to decompress from all of this. Bao frowns while not pausing her forkful of zoodles and says ok while mentally noting that the microwave could be in a better place. After dinner Johnny hails an Uber home and looks forward to a snore-free nights sleep on clean sheets.

Rachel Is Alarmed By Jose’s Budget Board On Married At First Sight

Rachel Gordillo cheeses through non-stop PDA with Jose San Miguel Jr. But is there some tension under the surface of their annoying early season MAFS bliss? Of course there is. Rachel informs Jose that she will be rising early to hit the gym. And that requires 4 alarms set at fifteen minute intervals that will go off for approximately one hour. Jose doesn’t like it but he will put up with it if she promises to take his crash course on improving your credit score in 7 simple steps.

After her workout Rachel endures something far more grueling on Married At First Sight: a tour of Jose’s house. Jose won’t STFU as he details everything like he’s the new guy on Million Dollar Listing. Rachel needs an escape route so she feigns terror when she sees the dry erase board detailing his monthly budget. Jose thought she had something similar at her pad. Rachel backs away from him and the board slowly like the soon to be slaughtered early victim of a horror movie.

At Rachel’s house Jose finds something equally disturbing. A collection of pencils in a cup each from a different country that Rachel has visited. He suggests she toss the sentimental leads as they certainly won’t bring much joy in a couple years. Much like this marriage. Rachel grabs a globe with folded up locales that she randomly picks when the urge to travel and run up fresh credit card debt strikes her. Jose’s lip twitches as he realizes he needs to balance his checkbook before midnight.

Myrla Dog Shames Gil’s Pooch

Myrla Feria loves herself on Married At First Sight. Of course there’s nothing wrong with a little self-love. But it’s kind of weird when your bedroom wall looks like the Instagram of a wanna be influencer who collabs with weight loss supplements they don’t really use. Look, it’s Myrla doing a backbend on the beach! Wait, is that Myrla perfecting a downward facing dog in a pink bikini atop the coliseum? Sure is. You get the picture.

Gil Cuero laughs this off but then sees her closet. It’s label city and filled with the typical brands people who aren’t really rich buy so they can look like they are rich. She suggests she only splurges on luxury items 3 times a year that average a grand. Gil definitely sees the red flags or should I say red bottoms here. It’s time to head to his house now and  meet his beloved pup Hype.

Needless to say Myrla is not impressed with Hype suggesting that he smells and is slobbery on Married At First Sight. Gil points out that he gets a bath once a week which gives him the edge over Bao in terms of hygiene since one dog bath a week equals 7 human baths. Myrla plays the prissy princess which at this point is getting old. Hype is well behaved and gives this lady some gracious paw while making a mental note to have a talk with his owner ASAP. Who doesn’t like dogs?

Brett’s Not A Fan of Ryan’s Wall Décor on Married At First Sight

Ryan Ignasiak has survived another plane ride with Brett. He says this one resulted in less injury. Now it’s time to check out Brett’s place. He likes that it’s “colorful” and says Brett is cool and he can hang out with her all day. Brett has an older but spunky dog named Baxter and Ryan is impressed with his energy. But at the same time knows he can never match that energy even on his best day.

Over at Ryan’s place Brett is a little less impressed with Ryan’s décor on Married At First Sight describing it as “brown”. She also isn’t a fan of the mounted deer head staring at her from the wall. A deer that Ryan himself shot and killed. On a lighter note she does like Ryan’s dog Maisy. But Baxter doesn’t share her enthusiasm for his new canine step-sibling. In the end however my money’s on the two dogs working out rather than these two colossally mismatched humans.

Pastor Cal Checks In On The MAFS Couples

There’s nothing like a friendly knock from Married At First Sight expert Pastor Cal Roberson. He gets sent in first while things are relatively fresh. The couples are still too fragile at this point to stomach the judgey side eye of Dr. Viviana Coles. Or the harsh truth bombs of Dr. Pepper Schwartz not to mention her distracting arts and crafts jewelry. Pastor Cal lends a friendly nod and a neutral demeanor.

Maybe that’s why nobody freaks out when he wants to know who’s getting laid and who’s not. Rachel and Jose are a big yes. And to the other extreme Myrla and Gil are a big no. Gil hasn’t even gotten so much as a kiss. Which makes Pastor Cal’s eyebrows raise to the heavens. Because he realizes that this marriage was over before the ink was dry on the contracts. It’s also a no for Brett and Ryan. Ryan claims to like Brett alright but hey she’s no loaded baked potato.

On Married At First Sight, Zack and Michaela won’t even sit next to each other so Pastor has to hear the whole thing about Zack leaving for doggy daycare without checking in. He convinces Zack Michaela has abandonment issues and he needs to man up. Bao admits that Johnny doesn’t want to get intimate. After a tense commercial break we find out that he’s turned off by Bao’s giddy and childlike behavior when he does lean in for some action. Sigh. Till next time!
