‘Married At First Sight’: Sparks Fly For Michaela Clark and Zack Freeman – Recap
On Married At First Sight sparks fly for new couple Michaela Clark and Zack Freeman the minute they lay eyes on each other at the altar. For Johnny Lam and Bao Huong Hoang, it proves to be a reunion of sorts as they knew each other in college. But did the experts get it right with Myrla Feria and Gil? Here’s a closer look at the new season .
Married at First Sight: Sparks Fly For Michaela Clark & Zack Freeman
Michaela Clark is a fun loving realtor who has earned the nickname “The Stubborn Sweetheart” on Married At First Sight. The baby of the family, Michaela was left devastated when her father was killed by a drunk driver. In spite of some rough times Michaela Clark is ready to settle down. And makes the most of her time at the bachelorette party. Her family and friends are all in as Michaela gets ready to tie the knot.
Zack Freeman is known on MAFS as “Renaissance Man”. He’s ready to fall in love and have the wife and family he’s always dreamed of. He admits he hasn’t found anyone yet that lived up to his expectations. So he’s hoping the experts can find him the woman of his dreams. His parents aren’t exactly thrilled with the decision to marry a stranger. But his mom admits she only wants the best for him.
The chemistry is instant between Zack and Michaela. The couple connect immediately at the altar and Michaela Clark is wowed by Zack Freeman’s heartfelt vows. These two definitely weren’t shy about their first kiss. And continued being affectionate all the way through their first dance. Family and friends seemed happy and cheered the couple on. So at least for now the experts got this one right.

Johnny & Bao Go Way Back On Married At First Sight Season 13
Johnny Lam is given the nickname “Mr. Life Of The Picky Party” on MAFS. He fashions himself “neat and orderly” with a smidge of OCD. He admits he’s probably too picky and fears vulnerability. Johnny also has some childhood baggage he’s lugging around due to his parent’s divorce. He knows his dad won’t approve and a tearful phone call proves him right as his dad refuses to attend the wedding or be a part of filming.
Bao Huong Hoang is affectionately known on the show as “Mrs. High Bar”. She grew up poor and once felt shame about her childhood home. But Bao worked hard to achieve success. All that’s missing now is a husband. And she’d like a nerdy one at that who is more into reading than clubbing. Bao’s family is supportive but her brothers warn her she can be particular and difficult. Bao laughs this off and is ready for her trip down the aisle.
On their big Married At First Sight wedding day, Bao is shocked to see her groom as she knows him from college. It seems they both were leaders of Vietnamese student groups at different schools. But their paths had crossed many times. In spite of this Bao and Johnny had fun at the altar and seemed genuinely flirty. They also bonded further when they both revealed each had requested the traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony at the reception. So far so good for these two.

Myrla & Gil Give It A Go On MAFS
Gil is a firefighter and seems to live up to his nickname “Mr. Caring and Charismatic”. He is proud of his Columbian heritage and an avid salsa dancer. He’s got some trust issues and still deals with tragedy when his dad was killed in a home invasion when he was just 14. Still, Gil is hopeful and is searching for a “90’s R&B kind of love”. He’s hoping to find true love and someone to be there to come home to after a hard day’s work.
Myrla Feria’s Married At First Sight title is “Picture Perfect Princess”. And it isn’t hard to see why. She describes herself as “bougie” and into self care. Myrla clearly puts the time in at the gym and with a strict skin care regimen. She also works hard in an education leadership career. And enjoys spending her hard earned dollars on shopping. Her friends worry this could backfire if her match is more on the conservative side when it comes to spending.
Gil seems in awe when he lays eyes on Myrla in her beautiful sheer wedding dress. Myrla on the other hand is taken aback by the fact that he’s bald. Something she told the experts she didn’t want. But she’s drawn in by his smile and the two share their vows. His friends seem a little concerned when Myrla mentions her love of red bottom shoes. And more so when she admits she isn’t necessarily a fan of dogs. So, time will tell with these two.

Ryan & Brett Are Both Hopeless Romantics
Ryan Ignasiak gets the nickname “Reformed Serial Dater” on Married At First Sight. He admits he’s dated a lot and that’s an understatement. He guesses he’s dated around fifty people just in Houston. And that doesn’t include small towns he can’t go back to after running through the female population. His family is skeptical but Ryan feels ready. He fashions himself a romantic who loves the movie The Notebook.
His match is Brett aka “Mrs. Hopefully Devoted”. In contrast to Ryan, Brett hasn’t been dating at all. And hasn’t so much as shared a kiss with anyone in 2 years. She wants a marriage like her parents have and is hopeful the MAFS experts can come through. Her friends are supportive and want the best for her. Brett and Ryan’s wedding is on hold till next week, but we did see Ryan sweating quite a bit at the altar.

Rachel & Jose Round Out The Married At First Sight Couples
Rachel Gordillo has made some lifestyle changes and is enjoying her newfound confidence. She has shed the weight she gained during quarantine and put her last relationship behind her. Now, she’s ready for more. And that means a walk down the aisle. Rachel has been dubbed ” The Blossoming Bride”. She’s got a good attitude and is putting her faith in the MAFS experts to find someone to share in her new journey with.
Jose San Miguel Jr. matched with Rachel. Known as “Mr. Perfectionist” on Married At First Sight, Jose holds everyone to a high standard. And after his parent’s divorce, he struggled. He sought out the experts hoping he can find someone who is educated and perfect to share life with. Jose and Rachel didn’t get to the altar yet on the show, so we will have to wait to see how these two match up in real life. Till next time!
