‘Married At First Sight’: Rachel Disses Jose on Their Wedding Day [Recap]
On Married At First Sight, Rachel Gordillo and Jose San Miguel Jr. say I do, but she hurts her husband’s feelings by saying she doesn’t care about looks. Brett and Ryan Ignasiak complete their vows and move on to the next steps but she’s not into his two step dancing. Zack Freeman and Michaela Clark continue to vibe while Johnny Lam finds it tougher to get close to Bao Huong Hoang. Rachel Gordillo Tells Jose San Miguel Jr Looks Aren’t Important on Married At First Sight
Jose San Miguel Jr. has worked hard his whole life and he’s ready to meet his wife. He admits he’s a little self-conscious about his looks and hope his new wife is attracted to him. Meanwhile, Rachel Gordillo tells her bridesmaids she is okay with her surprise hubby not being super hot as long as he’s got a great personality. When she finally walks down the aisle throwing hard Marisa Tomei vibes, Jose seems blown away by his bride.
He tells her she is gorgeous and she seems pretty smitten too. They finish with a “lasso ritual” and head off to pop some bubbly and get to know each other more. Things are going along just fine with this Married At First Sight couple. They both love going to sporting events, both Houston born and raised, and they both speak Spanish. Jose seems to be feeling confident and is very attracted to his wife who right now is checking off at least 4 of his 256 boxes on his list.
The bliss is short-lived when he tells her that she is his exact type of dream girl he imagined. Rachel replies that she actually had described him to her friends just before the wedding. Jose is feeling tall and can’t wait to hear more. Rachel says she just got done telling her friends that she’s not into looks. It’s a great personality that matters and that’s just what she got! Ouch. Jose deflates quickly but Rachel seems oblivious that she was rude. OMG girl you didn’t.

Brett Admits She’s Not A Country Girl
Ryan Ignasiak is sweating bullets at the altar on Married At First Sight. His bride Brett arrives on the arm of her father and he mumbles something about a blessing. But it’s on to the awkward vows of complete strangers. It’s hard to get a read on these two right away. Ryan says all the right things but he still seems nervous. The pair tough out the ceremony and it’s time for champagne. Things loosen up a bit and Ryan seems to legit be into Brett.
During the first dance Ryan wants to two step. Brett says dancing isn’t her thing especially country dancing. And wants to know what his friends meant by him hanging out on a ranch. She admits she might know the names of two country songs. And no, Carrie Underwood doesn’t count. Ryan also admits to her friends that she’s not his normal “type”. So, what is his type? I’m guessing big hair, cowboy boots, denim mini skirts and always chewing a wad of gum.

Things Get Touchy With The Married At First Sight Couples
When we catch up with newlyweds Myrla Feria and Gil Cuero, she is still keeping him at arm’s length. At the reception everyone taps their glasses to get them to kiss. But Myrla isn’t ready for that so he gets to kiss her on the cheek Even though he admits he’s crazy about her luscious lips. Gil’s friends think she’s high maintenance. But Myrla doesn’t see why her life of travel and expensive shoes should have to change. Gil is a little worried that her spending could wreck things.
On Married At First Sight, Johnny Lam and Bao Huang Hoang look great on paper. But Johnny admits he’s a touchy feely guy while for Bao this is last on her list. Johnny expresses his concern to her brothers and they pretty much tell him good luck with that. Although Bao admits she was crushing on Johnny way back when they knew each other before. Johnny didn’t feel that way before. But he certainly does now and admits he’s really into Bao.

Jose is having a good time and seems to have moved on from Rachel hurting his feelings. He’s affectionate and she says she feels electricity with him. Jose’s stepmom encourages the two crazy kids to go for it on their wedding night. But Jose kind of puts a damper on things by bringing up his checklist. Michaela Clark and Zack Freeman so far seem the most into each other and have a kind of serious talk about past relationships.
Wedding Night Awkward Moments
The couples are finally able to head to the hotel. Not just any hotel, but as we are reminded several times, the InterContinental Hotel. Proud sponsor of the train wreck that is sure to be Season 13 of Married At First Sight. “Look”, Brett says to Ryan “it’s chocolate courtesy of the InterContinental Hotel.” Johnny gets a little bolder after it took him 4 hours to help unbutton Bao’s dress. ” My fingers are bleeding” he says, “but there are condoms courtesy of the InterContinental Hotel.
Brett is worried that Ryan won’t think she’s pretty once she comes out with no makeup. But he says he actually prefers her that way, raw as a country song. He really didn’t say that last part. Myrla is still socially distanced from Gil but she says she is happy. She warns him that she talks in her sleep but not to worry. If she yells out another man’s name it will most likely be Jimmy Choo or Louis Vuitton.
Michaela and Zack seem the most likely to consummate the marriage on Married At First Sight. Rachel is pretty excited that Jose has a good body. It’s good she didn’t see him checking off another box on the list a few minutes before when he saw that she packed floss. Next up for the five MAFS couples is the honeymoon. So we have to wait to see who did and who didn’t. Till next time!
