Married At First Sight: Clare and Cameron Agree to Separate

The latest Married At First Sight couple to bite the dust in Denver are Clare Kerr and Cameron Frazer. Not surprising since it’s been awkward since he gifted her a stuffed kiwi bird. Not to mention his tourist wardrobe in sunny Mexico. Clare clearly wasn’t into him from the jump. But Cameron held out hope that she’d come around. In this episode he’d had enough. And after a day of biking with a friend text her that he wouldn’t be coming home.

Clare Kerr shed some real tears. But there was also a sense of relief. At a night out with the dwindling cast, Emily Balch asked what was up with their marriage. And they decided on the count of 3 to blurt out stay or go. Neither wasted anytime saying it was definitely time to part ways. Back at their apartment, they receive pics of the day they said “I do” being it was everyone’s one month anniversary. They both got a little emotional. But nah it’s not working out for these two.

Later on the Married At First Sight: After Party show hosted by Keshia Knight Pulliam, Clare Kerr threw Cameron Frazer under the bus. She suggested she did make a move after a night out. And that he responded with an “eww”. Host Keshia suggests that Cameron was into Clare. But she says it was all for the cameras. So, hopefully he regains custody of his beloved kiwi stuffy.

Married At First Sight: Austin Says Becca Is Going to Hell

In a bizarre twist even for this messed up MAFS season, perky pink-haired Becca Haley is in tears after Austin suggests he won’t see her in the afterlife because she’s going to hell. His reasoning is what he was taught in bible school all these years. So it doesn’t matter how kind she is or who she is as a person. If she isn’t on the same biblical page as him, she’s going south to suffer. Becca sobs to pastor Cal Roberson. Who suggests it probably isn’t that cut and dry in the most pastory way possible.

Austin rubs Becca’s back as she sobs about her hellish demise on Married At First Sight. Hey, it’s not him going to hell! Later he says he will try and be more sensitive. His friend offers a common sense response: Becca of all people won’t be cast into eternal damnation. But it’s all Austin’s got right now to make the slip out of this mismatch clearly not made in heaven. Later they look at wedding pics and she is clearly smitten. But he can’t get past picturing little devil horns on all her pics.

MAFS Brennan Shoykhet Calls Emily Balch a Red Flag

The deep freeze continues in Denver for Brennan Shoykhet and Emily Balch. The Married At First Sight couple make homemade pizza. And Brennan scoffs at Dr. Pia Holec’s suggestion of poking each other for more intimacy. Not literally of course. He suggests they “hug more” instead. Later they do some horseback riding. Emily is perplexed when Brennan bonds quickly to his horse Gucci. It’s the most sincere attachment she’s seen since the honeymoon.

Over grilled romaine Brennan freezes up again and calls Emily herself a “red flag”. She tries to get him to open up but the lettuce has wilted and clearly, he has too. At the group dinner he suggests he’s taking it “one day at a time” when asked about his marriage to Emily. Dude, it’s your wife not Alcoholics Anonymous. Tired of his nothing burgers she flees to the ladies room. Clare follows much to Cameron’s delight. He’s got his appetite back after being freed of this so-called experiment.

On Married At First Sight, Emily cries to Clare about Brennan’s BS. Brennan plays dumb and repeats he’s just taking it day by day. Emily storms out to the car and he follows. He can’t understand what she’s upset about. She tells him that it’s embarrassing for her when he basically has nothing to say about their relationship. Brennan pretends to not get this and the doom continues into next week.

Married At First Sight: Can Michael Shiakallis Save the Season?

The MAFS experts gather to try and understand the epic failures of season 17. But first on the list is the unprecedented dump at the altar. Dr. Pepper Schwartz winces as she reminds us all that no one, and we mean no one has ever backed out at the altar. Sure many other heinous things happened to couples who hung on for 8 weeks. But they still committed to that suffering. Ditched groom Michael Shiakallis is brought in like a third string quarterback to revive this dead in the water season.

Michael Shiakallis agrees to suit up and try again on MAFS. Dr. Pepper seals the deal by awkwardly showing up at a bar where Michael tells his friends he’s launching a hail Mary and getting back in the game. Pepper pours everyone a glass of Married At First Sight champagne. It’s overly bubbly in the beginning, with ending notes of dark despair and disappointment. Go get em’ Michael!
