Married At First Sight: Emily’s Honeymoon Hair Emergency – Recap [S17E06]

On Married At First Sight, Emily Balch proves she’s up for anything, but pays the price when the waves make a tangled mess out of her hair extensions. Orion Martzloff heats up again. Cameron Frazer and Clare Kerr lighten up and have some fun. And Austin plays it cool about his marriage with Becca Haley. Let’s take a closer look at what happened on Season 17, Episode 6 Cancun Can’t Touch This.

Married At First Sight: Emily Balch Is Fearless on a Flyboard

The honeymoon continues on Married At First Sight. Emily Balch has a sprained wrist and a fearless attitude. She agrees to try flyboarding with husband Brennan Shoykhet. He goes first and catches on pretty quickly. Emily, who’s wrist still hurts after a tumble on a wet bathroom floor is game to try. Brennan is impressed with Emily’s skills once she finds her balance. He thinks she’s a catch and a bad*ss.

It turns out the waves wreaked havoc on her hair. Her extensions tangle into an unmanageable mess. Brushing doesn’t work. So, Emily is understandably freaked out. The couples head out on a bus for a boat ride and Becca Haley comes to the rescue and fashions Emily’s matted locks into a couple of cute space buns. Her prowess aside, the gang can’t go on the boat because of rain. So, it’s back to the resort.

So later on Married At First Sight, Emily Balch gets a visit from the resident resort hair stylist. There’s a language barrier and a pair of pliers so she’s a little nervous. But patient. After a few hours with some cuticle scissors the mass of extensions are removed and plunked on the coffee table. Emily feels a little naked without the rest of her hair.

Orion Martzloff Upset by Lauren’s Recent Tryst

Married At First Sight couple Orion Martzloff and Lauren G. were early favorites to make it this season. But an argument over some offensive terminology put a damper on the couple. They manage to talk it out in a hot spring and patch things up for the most part.

Over dinner they discuss moving forward with the physical part of the relationship. After getting very specific as to what will go down (pun intended) during the act, the talk turns to the last time they were intimate with someone.

For Orion Martzloff, it’s been over a year. Lauren casually admits that for her it’s only been a few months. But just shy of finding out she was matched on MAFS. Orion doesn’t find this acceptable. And says sex is off the table for him. She seems surprised by his reaction. He explains he considered himself “engaged” once he found out he was chosen for the experiment. Lauren gets annoyed and asks “now what then”?

Married At First Sight Couples Discuss Their Progress

The couples spent some time apart this episode. The guys chatted it up on the beach. Austin downplayed how good things are going with him and Becca Haley. He fears the others would feel bad. The girls hang out at the pool. And Clare Kerr has the most to say. She feels the others had immediate chemistry with their Married At First Sight husbands. And that it’s lacking for her and Cameron Frazer. The others point out they’ve seen Cameron show affection. And that she just didn’t notice.

Later the couples play a question-and-answer game. The others see a new side to Cameron when he’s open about his past. And Clare appreciates him giving her a compliment about how she communicates. So, she admits to him she needs to be more receptive to his cues of affection. The rain finally stops and the couples finally get that boat ride. They dance, swim and get candid. So as the honeymoon comes to an end it’s time to see how things go back in the real world.
