Married At First Sight: Lauren Wants a Divorce Before the Honeymoon Is Over – Recap [S17E07]
On Married At First Sight, things take a dramatic turn when Lauren rips off her ring and says she wants a divorce before the honeymoon is over. Cameron Frazer continues to win over Clare Kerr in spite of his poor taste in swimwear. Something seems off with Emily Balch and Brennan Shoykhet. Married At First Sight: Lauren Thinks the Marriage Is Over
In a surprising turn of events on Married At First Sight, Lauren is ready for a divorce before the honeymoon is even over. After a fight with Orion Martzloff about how recently she slept with someone before the MAFS experiment began, they tried to move forward. Lauren even arranged a video call with one of the show’s experts Dr. Pia Holec. Orion admitted he was wrong and even cried a little bit. So, it seemed the couple was ok but still on shaky ground.
Orion Martzloff does ask Lauren for space after the call. She obliges and gives him some time. They meet up with the other couples minus Cameron, who’s at the doctor for an ear infection. The couples toss up how they are feeling about the honeymoon coming to a close. Lauren admits it’s been a rollercoaster so far and she’s along for the ride. She apologizes for making a joke that didn’t land well. Orion claims that he can move forward from the hurdles.

On Married At First Sight, Orion tells producers that he’s still stewing over the culturally insensitive joke. Later the pair wake up and admit they stayed up talking till 3 am. And Orion admitted he can’t come back from her insensitive comment. Clare finds Lauren crying in the lobby. She heard Orion blaming her for the failure of the marriage. She admits she blew up and took her ring off and asked for a divorce. Clare listens and supports her.
Orion Martzloff Calls on Pastor Calvin Roberson
As the Married At First Sight couples prepare to leave the resort, Orion Martzloff calls Pastor Calvin Roberson, another expert. He tells him that he just can’t get past the insensitive crass and crude joke that Lauren made days ago.
Even though he initially said he was past it. Pastor Cal says he gets it. But questions whether Lauren apologized and understood why it affected him. He admits she has but claims he just can’t get over it.

MAFS expert Pastor Cal Roberson sends production to get Lauren on a call. She admits she is frustrated with Orion’s constant blame even though she acknowledged she was wrong. She was fed up and admits to asking for a divorce. Cal suggests that was a knee jerk reaction and then gets them both on a call together.
Orion Martzloff won’t budge that Lauren offended him and says it will affect his community and his mom. Lauren reaches her limit and walks off. So these two may be over before they really even started.
Married At First Sight: The Couples Tackle Tough Subjects
With the early favorite couple falling apart just days into the marriage, the other Married At First Sight couples tread lightly. Becca Haley and Austin wonder if they should discuss religion. Since their differences on the subject could be an issue.
He doesn’t want to ruin the fun they’ve had on the honeymoon. So he suggests they hold off. Emily Balch and Brennan Shoykhet do discuss their views on faith. But they seem to agree it won’t be a deal breaker for either.
Whats up with brennan and Emily? He acts like he has zero attraction to her, zero interest in getting to know her. His mind & heart seem very closed towards her. His words say one thing but his actions &expressions seem to suggest he's ready for this to be over.

What could be a deal breaker for Emily and Brennan comes to light later. Emily Balch beats him in basketball and table tennis with one bad hand. She senses he’s annoyed and asks if he knows how to have fun. This only annoys him even more. Emily says she was only joking but Brennan Shoykhet stays miffed. Emily admits she’s noticed a shift in their dynamic. She’s not sure what it is but something is different.
Married At First Sight couple Cameron Frazer and Clare Kerr are actually doing better as the honeymoon continues. Cameron returns from the doctor with a giant bouquet for Clare. And she’s thrilled by the gesture. Later he suggests he will help her with her luggage on the return trip. Since he kind of left her hanging on the way there. Clare Kerr impresses Cameron Frazer by knowing exactly what he wants for breakfast down to the pancakes. So it’s on to next time to see how it all plays out!
