Married At First Sight: Austin’s Awkward Pillow Talk – Recap [S17E13]
On Married At First Sight, Austin feels the heat to step it up in the bedroom but just doesn’t seem to know how in spite of some props. Brennan Shoykhet tries to convince himself that he’s not the one sabotaging his marriage. Clare Kerr hangs on to her vows while Cameron Frazer gets surgery. Married At First Sight: Austin Just Can’t Get Out of His Head
Married At First Sight couple Austin and Becca Haley check all the boxes of this season’s cute cuddly couple. But it’s not enough for Becca who’s ready to take it up a notch in the bedroom. Austin’s answer is a tiny naked figurine terrarium building craft offered up in Denver. While juxtaposing teeny plastic nudes among mossy greens is certainly interesting, it isn’t really a turn on except maybe for a garden gnome.
The wacky pair meet with Dr. Pia Holec. Who tries to get to the bottom of Austin’s lack of drive. He rubs his neck a lot and skirts the question. Becca admits she feels undesired. Austin points out that they have had some fun rolling around in bed. But the buck stopped there. Becca suggests even a longer make out session. Or some foreplay that doesn’t have to be “secks-shew-al.” Like a text or a glance. He doesn’t really understand and suggests he’s too much “in his head”. Just not the right one.

Married At First Sight production drops off a kinky surprise to the apartment. A vibrator and some pink furry handcuffs. They play a game where Becca Haley is blindfolded and made to get on hands and knees and climb over furniture while Austin blurts out “boobs”! Later he fills the bedroom with rose petals and candles. It just gets more awkward and viewers are privy to some slurpy face-sucking. Austin suggests he’s ready and shuts the door. But it’s revealed later on MAFS After Party that it didn’t go any further. Sigh.
Married At First Sight: Brennan Shoykhet Is Angry That He Has to Act Married
Brennan Shoykhet and Emily Balch are tense after their hot tub melt down on Married At First Sight. Brennan looks like he’d rather be anywhere but there. The awkward silence gives way to a MAFS task. Write a letter to your younger selves. Eager to move away from each other, both furiously pen their childhood grievances. They include overbearing soccer dads and real estate mentors. After that, a planned outing to play indoor soccer takes place.
Emily kicks his butt on the indoor turf. Brennan feigns interest when she goes on again about her dad. He video chats with his BFF who sees through his fakery. He claims that he has lunch and dinner with Emily so he doesn’t understand what she’s complaining about. Later he gets defensive with Dr. Pia when she calls him out. Emily suggests that he’s careful what he presents on camera. So she’s afraid to talk about the fact that he’s an even bigger jerk behind the scenes.

Dr. Pia weirdly coddles an angry Brennan Shoykhet on Married At First Sight. He blames Emily for this mess. Because why do they have to act like they are married and all that? Later, at a meeting with the other lone surviving couple and a clingy Clare Kerr, Emily shows up with wine, tequila and no chaser. The women discuss the lack of sex this season. And Clare weeps and says as her ex Cameron Frazer lies in surgery, she’s keeping her vows of sickness and in health at the forefront as she downs her chardonnay.
Michael’s Shiakallis Midseason Wedding Drags On
In this season of Married At First Sight chaos, Michael Shiakallis attempts positivity for round 2. He invites the remaining stragglers to the ceremony. Becca and Austin are out as they will be visiting Austin’s grandmother. Emily is quick to confirm that her and Brennan are in. Even though he seems like he would rather chew glass than continue this farce. Michael is confident to a point. And hopes the new bride sticks around for a minute to close the deal.

MAFS midseason replacement bride Chloe Brown whirls through wedding prep in her own personal ad campaign. She’s getting wedding nails done with her bridesmaid and mom. She’s tossing her hair and surrendering her future to a tired Dr. Pepper Schwartz and a befuddled Pastor Cal Roberson. Not to mention sexpert to the celibate Dr. Pia Holec. What can go wrong? Nothing that a flip of the hair and some champagne can’t fix! Till next time!
