Is ‘Sister Wives’ Canceled or Will Season 17 Rise from the Ashes?

Is Sister Wives canceled after the mess of Season 16 — will TLC work with the Browns again? And if another season does play out will Christine Brown be part of it? These questions plus many more swirl around social media today.

Did TLC Cancel Sister Wives or Will Kody Brown Ride Again?

The answer to that is yes. Season 17 has already filmed. And Kody Brown revealed a few spoilers. That’s after making a mess out of things this season.

With Sister Wives: One on One airing the last of the three parts Sunday night — what’s next? Well, Kody let some info slip back when this season first began. He talked about something already filmed for Sister Wives Season 17.

He dropped that tidbit while making a personalized fan video. He described a wedding he officiated. Then, he stopped and said that’s for Season 17. But, then he caught himself before revealing more S17 spoilers.

Kody Ties Someone Else’s Knot Next Season

The fans learned that Kody’s bachelor buddy married. The guy is in his 50s and never married before. And, for some reason, he asked Kody to be the man to tie the knot for him and his bride.

So, it looks like Kody Brown serves as officiant over wedding vows. No doubt, the Brown patriarch has a lot of experience with marriage given his four weddings. And he managed to keep the family together for over 25 years.

But that was before Sister Wives Season 16. Kody offered this info as S16 first began. So, his friend didn’t have a chance to see what happened as his third marriage fell apart with TLC cameras rolling.

Is Sister Wives Canceled — Or Goes on Without Christine Brown?

The good news for fans that are Team Christine is that she’s part of the next season. Not only are they not canceled but Sister Wives Season 17 includes Christine Brown.

S17 chronicles Christine’s journey as she leaves Kody Brown and moves to Utah. So, what happens once she gets there, is that the end of Christine on the show?

It seems Christine filmed from her new home as she started a life apart from her husband and co-wives. She remains part of the Sister Wives show. So, fans learn Season 17 is done and most likely in editing right now.

But the big question is — what happens after Season 17? Are the Browns canceled? Is this the end of this polygamy series? It’s safe to say a series focusing on Kody and Robyn Brown alone wouldn’t draw many viewers.

The viewers now can see that plural marriage turned into one of functional monogamy. With Kody only sharing a bed with one wife, that doesn’t speak to true marriages with his other remaining spouses.

According to Christine, the only one getting intimacy is Robyn. But even if they cancel Sister Wives, that doesn’t mean TLC’s done with the family.

Many fans suggested a spinoff. So far, the consensus among followers is that they’d like to see Christine and Janelle Brown in a series. And of course, with all their kids.

Only time will tell once Season 17 airs which would be in about 9-12 months from now. It’s hard to imagine something will happen to redeem Kody Brown with fans. But, we’ll see
