This week’s TLC episode has Amy Slaton worried that Tammy wouldn’t take some news well. She had to tell her sister that she and Michael Halterman bought a house. And that meant they were moving 30 minutes away. That’s a far cry from living in the other half of a duplex from her sibling.
On 1000-Lb Sisters, Amy fretted with Amanda Halterman, Misty Slaton, and Chris Combs about Tammy Slaton. Chris and Misty seemed to suggest they “let the state take her”. If Tammy was a “ward of the state”, then her care would be out of their hands.
But Amanda said she’s never let that happen. When Amy showed Tammy the house, she refused to come inside and look around. And while she said she was proud of her, she also scoffed at them having just one bathroom. Then, she seemed to spiral out of control. And Amy feared her sister neared “rock bottom”.
1000-Lb Sisters Producers Question Boozing – But Keep Filming
While it’s true that documentarians aren’t supposed to interfere, it was disturbing to watch. As Tammy Slaton gobbled up pizza and liquor, they kept rolling tape. Producers even asked her about her health. She said she knew she was damaging her health. But she wanted to have “fun”.
Even Amy admitted that Tammy never partied when they were younger. She’d dropped out of high school and was already struggling with her weight back then. So, she may be making up for that. Or, as her younger sister feared, Tammy was drinking a lot in reaction to her moving news. And The Sun reported “backlash” to her vaping.
She boozed and vaped heavily, despite her need for an oxygen cannula. 1000-Lb Sisters cameras followed her into a van for a liquor store run. And she was vaping on the drive. Then, she handed over cash with orders to buy liquor and a bunch of shots. Of course, fans worry.
TLC Star Tammy Says She’s Not Vaping and Off Booze Too
Recently, Tammy claimed she was two months clean from booze. She said she’s not a pothead or alcoholic “anymore”. Fans didn’t see her smoking marijuana but that makes you wonder. Did the reality show record her doing weed too but didn’t air it because it’s illegal in Kentucky?
Her statement came the day after the controversial episode aired. She said she’s been clean of booze and weed for two months. She also said she’s not vaping anymore. But Tammy Slaton remains in medical care, reportedly a rehab facility. Just after the incident on 1000-Lb Sisters, she’s hospitalized.
It seems she might have bounced from hospital to rehab but finally came home in late November. Yet it also seems Tammy’s received in-patient care for many weeks now. Perhaps all of 2022. She remains in a rehab facility now, according to our sources.
