Season 3 of the TLC show ends this week. And fans are sad, knowing they may have to wait until Season 4 for more answers. This season, Tammy decided she’s done trying to lose weight.
Instead, she wants to party and “live her life”. This comes after her brother, Chris Combs, got his gastric bypass and started shedding weight. This, along with her break up with Phillip Redmond, has put her in a weird place.
On 1000-lb Sisters, she says she’s tired of being stuck at her house most of the time. She tells her sister Misty Slaton that she is ready to see the world. And she’s thinking about going to meet Phillip in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But, Misty asks Tammy, if she can’t walk 70 steps on her own, how can she think about traveling? Plus, a visit from Dr. Eric Smith reveals that she isn’t even trying to lose weight anymore. So, Dr. Smith discharges her as a patient until she’s back on the right track.
1000-Lb Sisters Sees Party Spiral
Tammy Slaton surprises many when she reveals her new life choices. Her new carefree lifestyle has her hungover most days and partying most nights. She starts to eat whatever she wants again and none of it’s healthy.
She’s vaping and boozing on a regular basis. According to Dr. Eric Smith, any one of those habits at her size can be fatal. The doc heard about this from Chris at his post-op appointment. Plus, he tracks Tammy on social media and sees her antics there.
Dr. Smith decides to travel to Kentucky to see Tammy on 1000-lb Sisters. He hopes to make her understand she needs to get help. A new TLC trailer on Twitter for the final episode reveals Dr. Smith gets a good result from talking to Tammy Slaton.
So, Chris takes her to rehab. Many remember she was in rehab as the season began. At the time, she thought she was doing well with weight loss. But she left too soon. Now, all her recent partying puts her in danger. It sure looks like she’s in peril on the way.
Tammy Slaton Can’t Breathe on 1000-Lb Sisters Season Finale
Tammy Slaton puts her family on edge in the trailer for the season finale. Then, Chris takes his sister to rehab to get help for her food addiction. She says, “I am not doing this for nobody but myself.”
That sounds promising. But then, on the car ride, Tammy Slaton begins to feel faint. When her brother asks what her oxygen level is, he hears it’s very low. The cameras cut to Chris, and he says that she “stopped breathing”.
This could be because of carbon monoxide poisoning. Tammy revealed she suffered from it in an update at the end of 2021. That’s when she had to get a tracheostomy so they could feed oxygen directly to her lungs.
Obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS) is common with morbid obesity and it can lead to too much CO2 in the bloodstream. So, watch for more of this on the season finale of their TLC show.
