‘Sister Wives’: Meri Reveals Kody’s Decade-Long Dry Spell – Is It His Problem?
Meri Brown stuns with a reveal about Kody Brown on the Sister Wives Tell-All that will floor fans. Most people probably had no idea about his lengthy dry spell. So, when One on One host Sukanya Krishnan sits down with each spouse, Meri hesitates. She is not sure how far she wants to take this. But then she lets it out and this bizarre bit of news about Kody leaves more questions than answers.
Meri Brown Catfishing Not What Ended Things?
For years, viewers thought that Kody Brown cut Meri Brown off from intimacy over her “online affair”. That’s what Kody calls it. Most people know is as the “catfishing” incident. It was back in 2015 when she started talking online with a “man” named Sam.
This person wooed her so well that Meri was ready to meet him. But after about six months of chatting, she found out the truth. Sam was a woman fooling her. That was 6-7 years ago. Yet on the One on One Tell-All, Kody said their dry spell began way before that.
When pressed by Sukanya, a thoughtful Meri considers then says it’s been a “decade” since she was intimate with her husband. So, that means it was several years before the catfish controversy that their dry spell began.
She claims on Sister Wives: One on One that the catfishing event was not the point where it all ended in their bedroom. It sounds as if she’s getting tired of hearing this.
So, the first wife laid it all out for Tell-All viewers. That’s a long time to go without sex… According to TLC in a recent Instagram promo, the Browns are “more honest than ever”.
Kody Brown Has One Long Dry Spell – Sister Wives: One on One Stunner
While Meri Brown cleared up the timeline, Kody has a different take. He still maintains that their marriage is broken because she had “an affair.” He gets adamant with the One on One host. He told Sukanya Krishnan that “she was leaving my a**”.
Kody got hot under the collar as he said Meri planned to leave him for someone that was younger and had more money. Then, she found out it was a scam. The Sister Wives patriarch then said the family protected her by “circling the wagons.”

He added that because they protected her, Meri never took responsibility for her actions. Kody tells the One on One hot that she still sees herself as a victim today. But he also made clear that she’d never have been a victim if she hadn’t been online looking around.
Kody’s Explanation Doesn’t Fit Timeline for Meri’s Marriage Mess?
Now that Meri Brown revealed how long it’s been since Kody bedded her, the math seems off. His explanation for avoiding nooky with wife #1 only explains the last few years. But what about the years before the online scandal?
From what Meri reports, Kody began avoiding her bed a few years before she was catfished. So, she was one of the Sister Wives not getting any romantic attention from her husband. So, could that be why she went online looking for romance?
While it never went further than the keyboard, it seems as if she was looking for something she didn’t have. She insists they were “friends” but Kody sees it as much more. And it’s not just Meri not getting any action from Kody Brown.
He also cut off intimacy with Christine Brown. And Janelle Brown hasn’t spent much time with her shared husband either. So, is Kody using intimacy as a reward-punishment system?
Because he told Christine he wasn’t sleeping with her because of her “behavior”. And he clearly didn’t like Meri’s behavior when she was online getting scammed. As of Part 1 of One on One, Meri didn’t divulge what (if any) event started the dry spell.
But there are two more segments to go, so maybe one of them will explain it further. For now, it remains a mystery why Kody Brown began shunning Meri Brown for intimate relations.
Only One on One Part 1 of the three-episode season-ender aired. And from what the previews suggest, there’s a lot of digging yet to come. Part 2 and Part 3 of the Tell-All air on February 6 and 13 on TLC.
