TLC’s Sister Wives fans agree that Kody Brown and his family are not your ordinary family. But, Kody’s nephew Benjamin Brown reveals they have a few bizarre skeletons in their closets. The Brown family tree tends to be a little confusing. But, according to Benjamin, the family is closer than many know.
Benjamin claims that the Brown family tree consists of many twists. But it starts with Kody’s father marrying Janelle Brown’s mother.
So, this means that Kody and Janelle were step-siblings before husband and wife. Next, he adds that his uncle Kody and former wife Christine Brown are fourth cousins.

Kody’s Nephew Says Polygamy Is Not a Happy Life for Most
Benjamin alleges abuse in some polygamous families. He says his feelings arise from personal experience within a plural family. His nephew did not detail his abuse claims. However, he says that it’s “rare” that children get adequate care within these families.
He also says he doesn’t watch the Sister Wives reality series. Benjamin reveals his reasons for not watching the show. He claims it is because he has issues with how television portrays religion.

He said he’s popped up in the background of their TLC show but said he stayed away from cameras because he doesn’t like the network. Benjamin Brown also says that it bothers him when Morman polygamy is portrayed as a fun and happy lifestyle.
This is because it has never been his experience. Ben says he is not pointing a finger directly at Kody Brown’s Sister Wives family. He adds from his experience, they all appear to treat their children well.
