‘I Am Jazz’: Jazz Jennings’ Dating App Disaster

Jazz Jennings experiences a dating app disaster on I Am Jazz. She doesn’t hide that she’s transgender on her profile. But it seems like people still choose to be hateful.

I Am Jazz: Jazz Jennings Sets up Dating Profile

Jazz Jennings gets back into the dating world in the new season of I Am Jazz. So, she sets up a dating profile on an app to find a potential match. She wants to find love.

Jazz feels that dating can be difficult for anyone. But being transgender “adds a whole other layer.” She thinks that someone may not be attracted to someone pre-operation. Yet, post-surgery, they could find them attractive. So, the TLC celeb feels it only makes dating harder.

However, Jazz Jennings’ mother, Jeanette Jennings, is against the apps. She fears her daughter may meet someone and harm her when they meet. Yet, the I Am Jazz celeb doesn’t listen to her mother and keeps her profile active.

TLC Star Talks to Dating App Matches

Jazz Jennings goes out with her friends, Jaclyn and Mya, for a healthy meal. Her friend, Jacyln, asks about her dating life. She says she is new to the “dating app thing.”

However, she finds it difficult being transgender. She chooses to disclose that she is a trans woman. Yet, she knows that not everyone shares that information.

I Am Jazz: Jazz Jennings

According to Jazz, some people pick to go “stealth.” She explains that it is when trans people “don’t share their trans identity.” When people can’t tell you are transgender, it is called “passing.”

However, when someone can tell that you are, they “clock you” and “identify you as a transgender person.” She feels that no person wants to be “clocked.” So, she believes that going stealth is not the best idea.

The I Am Jazz reality star tells her friends that she has been matching with a few people. She even thinks some of them are cute. So, she sparks up a few conversations with her matches. However, not every match she gets has something nice to say to her.

I Am Jazz Celeb Faces Slurs and Negativity

Jazz Jennings opens up a message from a match. The man didn’t realize she was a transgender woman right away, and when he found out, he didn’t have anything nice to say.

He called the TLC star names and told her to “get out of here.” She then starts to read all the hateful messages he sent.

The I Am Jazz cast member doesn’t understand why someone would swipe right on her and be upset she is transgender when she states it in her profile.

She doesn’t know why someone has to be cruel. She feels they should “just be respectful.” She doesn’t know why someone can hate someone for something they can’t control.

Jazz knows that her mother wouldn’t be happy about those messages. And she’s right. She tells Jeanette Jennings that she’s experiencing a lot of “slurs and negativity” on the app.

Jeanette is mad hearing about the hate her daughter is getting. She says, “this is why I don’t like these dating apps.”
