However, their weight loss journeys have left the sisters going in two different directions. The current 1000-lb Sisters weight shows the drastic differences between where the girls first started on the TLC show.

Amy Slaton isn’t too far behind her 1000-lb Sisters co-star at her first weigh-in. After Amy and Tammy travel to a recycling facility to get on a scale, Amy 1000-lb Sisters’ weight right around 400 pounds.

After learning how much they weigh, the 1000-lb Sisters try to work together to get healthier. They visit a nutritionist and a weight loss surgery to learn how much they need to lose to qualify for an operation. The two siblings get their goal and work towards eating healthier. However, things don’t start off smoothly for Tammy and Amy.

Amy Slaton decides she wants to go to the hotel pool to start getting active. Yet, Tammy isn’t able to get into the pool with her sister, because she can’t walk down the stairs to get into the pool. So, she sits at the top of the stairs and watches Amy play around in the water.

But, Tammy from 1000-lb Sisters cries as she watches her sister splash around. She says her biggest goal is to not depend on a walker or a wheelchair. Also, she says she’s going to meet this weight loss goal in one year. When asked what’s going to happen if she doesn’t meet this new milestone, she says there isn’t any other option.

For a little while, Amy losing the pounds slowed down because she found out she was pregnant. While her husband, Michael Halterman, and family worried she wasn’t eating healthy enough for the baby, she didn’t end on putting on a lot of extra pounds.

But, as Amy’s cleaning her sister’s house, she discovers Tammy ate 30 meals in less than two days. This causes the entire family to start thinking about putting their sister into a nursing facility.

Yet, it doesn’t look like Tammy from TLC’s 1000-lb Sisters is completely trying to keep herself out of trouble. Rumors have spread around about Tammy Slaton and accuse her of many things. One thing that she’s accused of is slapping a nurse that works at the facility she’s currently staying at. However, Tammy takes to using her online platforms to speak up about these rumors.

Tammy says the statements about her aren’t true. But, she has yet to confirm or deny that she’s receiving a medical intervention to help her lose some pounds.

After Amy pleads with her sister, Tammy Slaton, to make better eating decisions, she realizes she isn’t going to make any changes. She realizes she’s going to need to start planning the funeral of her sister who refuses to do anything to help herself lose pounds.

Also, she denies her boyfriend, Jerry Sykes, being the problem causing her to gain pounds. Tammy claims Jerry’s the only person that understands her and will listen to her, unlike anyone in her family.

So, Amy sits down with Chris Combs to start making funeral plans. But, Amy cries as she talks about the death of Tammy Slaton. She says there was one time where she wasn’t sure Tammy was going to make it out of the hospital after getting pneumonia in her lungs.

That’s because Tammy’s lived with other people and they all end up realizing how much work and effort Tammy requires. When Amy brought Tammy with her to start living with her, Amy ended up picking her sister up from an assisted living facility.

Tammy Slaton’s weight doesn’t start dropping until the end of season one of 1000-lb Sisters. She manages to lose 50 pounds while eating healthier and starting her own exercise program. But, many 1000-lb sisters fans believe she’s dropped these pounds because Amy Slaton got approved for her operation.

After season one of the 1000-lb Sisters ends, the COVID-19 pandemic, Tammy and Amy are stuck inside. This causes Tammy to put on all of the weight she ended up losing. She says she had a hard time finding healthy foods to eat, because of the food shortages. Also, the TLC star says she eats a lot more because she’s stuck inside and she’s bored.

Shortly after starting season two of the 1000-lb Sisters show, it’s discovered that Tammy keeps putting on weight. She has a doctor’s appointment at Georgetown Bariatrics. She opts to find out her latest weigh-in.

Since learning about her weight gain, Tammy’s health has quickly gone gone downhill. Not only was she diagnosed with COVID-19, but she’s also spent time in the hospital. A blood clot went to her lungs, causing her entire family to worry about whether or not Tammy’s going to die. Her family even goes as far as buying funeral plots for Tammy, because they don’t believe she’s going to make it longer than the five years doctors gave her.

What’s Next for the Sisters on Season Three

Many 1000-lb Sisters fans worried that there wasn’t going to be an update on the weight loss journey from Tammy and Amy Slaton. They want to know if their favorite stars are going to keep succeeding with their health adventures. One fan wants to know if Tammy would drop her relationship with Jerry to focus on another attempt at getting wight loss surgery. Tammy responds on video and says she isn’t worried about her relationship with Jerry, because they’ve decided to take a break and see other people.

Now, Tammy spends a lot of her free time flirting with a man she met online. She creates videos of herself dancing around and reacting to the videos of the new guy she’s interested in. Also, she admits to wearing a face mask in her YouTube videos because she doesn’t want to take a chance of getting the coronavirus again.

But, a lot of people are believing she wears the mask in an attempt to keep her weight gain or weight loss hidden from them. Tammy won’t comment on this, because of the contract she’s signed with TLC.

As for Amy Slaton, she isn’t in the public eye as much as her other family members are. Instead, she’s focused on soaking in all of the time she has being a new mom. In her most recent update, she shares how her son Gage just turned six months old. But, Amy’s gotten bold online by sharing a picture of herself wearing a bathing suit. Yet, this new outfit she’s flaunting herself around in really highlights how much weight she’s continued to drop outside of filming.
