‘1000-lb Sisters’: Amy & Tammy Slaton Worry about Infection in Atlanta

1000-lb Sisters Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton are preparing for a trip down to Atlanta, so they’re playing around with PPE. So, these sisters are doing everything they can to keep protected. And they’re trying out different types of personal protective equipment before traveling to Atlanta.

1000-lb Sisters: TLC’s Tammy Slaton Diagnosed with COVID-19

During the filming of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton worked side-by-side to help each other lose weight. Both sisters had their own reasons for wanting to lose weight. And they both wanted to try to lose enough weight to qualify for surgery to help them lose weight.

But, only one of the 1000-lb Sisters ended up losing enough weight to qualify for gastric bypass surgery. Amy Slaton received the gastric bypass and ended up losing 125 pounds.

Tammy Slaton’s still struggling with her weight. And recently, she’s been diagnosed with COVID-19. She talks about when she was diagnosed with the coronavirus and pneumonia.

She spent three weeks in the hospital. But, she’s released from the hospital and is still working on fully recovering from the virus.

Attempt to Make Virus Fun & Fashionable

Despite Tammy from 1000-lb Sisters recovering from the coronavirus, this family is working on finding ways to make staying safe from the virus fun. They’ve purchased a bunch of masks and are doing crafts with them. Tammy and Amy are decorating the masks together, each adding their own unique flair to them.

They add glitter, gems, and even face makeup to their masks. And these sisters say that by making masks fun to wear, that they’ll be willing to wear them.

1000-lb Sisters: Tammy Slaton & Amy Slaton Try Out PPE

The 1000-lb Sisters are taking a trip to Georgia to see Dr. Procter. They want to make sure that they’re staying safe.

The first piece of PPE that they’re using to keepsafe are vinyl gloves. Tammy shows these gloves off. Next, Amy picks out a no-touch tool.

Amy says that the tool is used to open the handle on doors. Also, she said that the no-touch tool can be used to push buttons. And she goes on to explain that you can use this tool to punch buttons on the microwave.

Then, Amy says that she and her sister have a “whole big box” of non-woven face masks. Next, she goes on to explain that there’s an “elastic piece” that goes over her nose. She says pinching it will make sure the mask doesn’t slip.

The 1000-lb Sisters star Amy says that “corona is really, really important”. She tells everyone to stay safe out there. Tammy’s piece of advice is to “tip your waiter”.
