Married at First Sight is a long-running matchmaking show where strangers meet and marry at the altar. They don’t see one another until their wedding day. And they put their trust in the experts to make the right choice for them. While some marriages end in happily ever after, the vast majority end in divorce. #5 Derek Schwartz & Heather Seidel – Married at First Sight
Heather Seidel and Derek Schwartz were matched on the fourth season of Married at First Sight in South Florida. And things got off to a rough start right from the jump for this pair. While most marriages experience a honeymoon phase, Heather skipped right over that with her new husband.
Heather Seidel said she was “worn out”. Meanwhile, Derek Schwartz told her flat-out to “leave” days into their new union. Heather didn’t like his behavior and habits like smoking. Meanwhile, Derek felt his new spouse nit-picked too much.
He called her out for “giving up” two days into the marriage. And it’s something the pair never recovered from. This Married at First Sight duo called it quits ten days into the experiment.
MAFS: #4 Molly Duff & Jon Francetic
Like a lot of Married at First Sight couples on this list, the honeymoon phase ended quickly for Molly Duff and Jon Francetic. Molly had several emotional outbursts during her time with Jon – and he was often the target. Things got so bad that he secretly recorded one of her verbal tirades.
Married at First Sight watchers remember the tense confrontation between Molly and Dr Jessica Griffin when the expert confronted her about her behavior. Molly berated her husband – and verbally attacked him often. So, it wasn’t a surprise when the couple called it quits.
Even with that disastrous Married at First Sight union, this story has a happy ending. Turns out, Jon found love with Dr Jessica – and they’ve been together ever since.
#3 Zach Justice & Mindy Shiben
When Married at First Sight kicked off its tenth season in Washington, DC, it seemed like Zach Justice and Mindy Shiben might be a good match. Mindy Shiben found her new husband attractive. Unfortunately for her, the attraction wasn’t there on his end.
Zach brought up his lack of attraction to his wife often. And it’s something that wore on Mindy. Many viewers felt Zach talked in circles without saying much. And Mindy grew tired of his verbal pyrotechnics. Meanwhile, Zach’s lack of attraction wasn’t the only concern.
Turns out, Zach talked to one of Mindy Shiben’s bridesmaids behind her back. And that situation coming to light was the final straw for the couple. After giving Zach numerous chances to make their marriage work, Mindy finally threw in the towel.
Married at First Sight: #2 Amber Bowles & Matt Gwynne
Amber Bowles and Matt Gwynne seemed like the perfect match when Lifetime introduced them on the ninth season of Married at First Sight. The teacher and former basketball player seemed to hit it off. And it looked like the chemistry was there at the start. But things went south quickly for the pair.
Turns out, Matt Gwynne felt his new wife was “clingy”. And rather than spend time with her, he went out to the bar. He even left his ring at home. Meanwhile, things took a turn when Amber found out her new husband cheated on her – and the couple never recovered.
In addition, things dragged out off-camera, too. Amber claimed Matt refused to sign the divorce papers “out of spite” long after calling it quits on Decision Day. Meanwhile, Amber said recently that she went to therapy after her time on the show with Matt.
#1 Luke Cuccurullo & Kate Sisk
According to many Married at First Sight fans, Luke Cuccurullo is one of the biggest villains ever. Even though Kate found her new groom attractive, the feeling wasn’t mutual for him. Luke said he was “repulsed” and felt “dead inside” after the couple was intimate. And he told Kate Sisk to keep their relationship in the bedroom hidden from the experts.
Luke Cuccurullo did other things like criticizing Kate’s drinking habits. Meanwhile, Married at First Sight cameras show him knocking back drinks, too. Throughout their season in Philadelphia, many watchers called Luke out for gaslighting Kate Sisk. He drove her to tears numerous times. And he was dodgy with the experts when they confronted him about his behavior.
With all of the drama in this Married at First Sight marriage, it wasn’t a shock when Kate Sisk and Luke Cuccurullo called it quits on Decision Day.
Luckily for Kate Sisk and former husband Luke Cuccurullo, the pair moved on since their disaster marriage on the Lifetime show. Kate Sisk is a successful business owner. She has an apparel line specializing in women’s lingerie and sleepwear. And even though Kate Sisk hasn’t found Luke’s replacement, she stays busy. She even adopted a new pup recently.
As for Luke Cuccurullo, he focused on himself following his time on Married at First Sight. He traveled across the country and spent time with Amber Bowles recently, too. Meanwhile, Luke Cuccurullo found love with a new girlfriend. And the couple added to their family with a new toy poodle.
