#1 1000-Lb Sisters Star Stops Drinking Booze
Fans noticed Tammy Slaton from 1000-Lb Sisters drank a lot, especially during the end of Season 3. Several of her family members, including Amy Slaton, addressed her concerns with her sister. They worry her alcohol consumption will kill her. However, the TLC star didn’t worry.
After the end of Season 3, Tammy said she’s “not an alcoholic” anymore. Also, she said she stopped vaping.
#2 Tammy Slaton Stops Breathing & Nearly Dies
In January 2022, Tammy Slaton from 1000-Lb Sisters is rushed to the hospital. TLC said she had “stopped breathing” while in the car. Sadly, she suffered from carbon dioxide poisoning.
This happened because her body was too heavy to expel the carbon dioxide from her lungs. Carbon dioxide began accumulating in her lungs, which caused her poisoning.
So, to save her life, she had a tracheotomy placed in her neck. Also, the star says her doctors placed this in her neck in case she got “sick” again.

#3 1000-Lb Sisters Star in Rehab
The 1000-Lb Sisters celeb Tammy Slaton has gone in and out of rehab facilities. However, she’s placed in a facility in 2022, and she’s still there.
But there have been a lot of good things that have come out of her stay in rehab. Also, she went into rehab after her hospital discharge. Now, she’s finally made progress in her health journey.
#4 TLC Celeb Gets Weight loss Surgery
Over the summer of ’22, Tammy finally received the weight loss surgery she worked hard for. Her brother, Chris Combs, shared an exciting update about her success.
So, over 30 days, the 1000-Lb Sisters’ personality dropped 115 pounds. Now that she’s gotten the surgery to save her life, she looks happier and healthier. Her family and fans express their pride in her and her progress.
#5 Tammy Says ‘I Do’
While in rehab Tammy hasn’t just focused on her weight. She started Caleb Willingham, a man she met at rehab.
After a short period of dating, Caleb asked her to marry him in the rehab facility’s parking lot. Then, the two marry. Now, she’s a wife!
