‘Young and the Restless’: Is Elena Dawson Leaving – Brytni Sarpy Promoting New Role
Young and the Restless fans are asking if Elena Dawson is leaving Y&R since Brytni Sarpy is promoting a brand new role in prime time. Plus, Elena mentioned a job offer in Chicago. It seemed she was fishing to see if Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) would ask her to stay. These scenes have fans wondering if the pretty doctor is leaving the CBS soap opera. Let’s look at the facts.
Young and the Restless Comings & Goings: Is Elena Dawson Leaving Genoa City?
Elena Dawson has been on Y&R for over two years. Brytni Sarpy came over to the CBS soap after a five-year run on General Hospital as police officer Valerie Spencer (of the legacy Spencer family). Since her introduction, Elena’s been unlucky in love and blew up both her relationships.
That was due to infidelity. While she is still pining for Nate, it seems he has moved on. So, Elena recently told him about a job offer that would take her away from Genoa City. But, he did not take the bait as she hoped hint Young and the Restless spoilers.
Then, on Y&R, Nate recently met Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose), and the attraction was instant. The two flirted mercilessly and will cross paths again soon. So, it seems Nate could soon be off the market.
Elena’s other love interest, Devon Hamilton (played by her real-life boyfriend Bryton James), also moved on. He and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) faced several bumps in the road. However, they seem committed. He is supportive as she learns more about her family.
This leaves Elena alone and lonely. So, Elena Dawson is without a love partner, and her roommate just moved away on Young and the Restless. Sasha Calle is off shooting The Flash. And it just doesn’t seem like they have a storyline for the very talented Ms. Sarpy…
Y&R’s Brytni Sarpy Mentioned New Prime Time Project
Recently, Brytni Sarpy talked about her appearances on The Haves and the Have Nots. That worried some followers that the actress was leaving to work on the prime time show. But never fear – the Elena Dawson portrayer already filmed her episodes of the Tyler Perry series.
Plus, Brytni Sarpy remains on contract – committed to Young and the Restless. So, while some fans are nervous that she is leaving – that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Beyond her Y&R contract, Brytni has strong personal ties to the show. She’s been dating Bryton James for a while now. So, that’s an added incentive to stick with the CBS soap and wait for a better storyline to come around.
You may recall that the real-life and Young and the Restless duo were one of the first pairs on daytime to have love scenes despite COVID-19 restrictions. That’s because they live together and were in the same quarantine bubble. And boy did they have some steamy scenes.
Young and the Restless Scoops: Elena Needs a Plot – Nate Still on the Table?
While Nate seems into Imani, actress Leigh-Ann has not inked a contract with Y&R. Plus, she seems to be keeping something from Amanda and conspiring with the rest of the family. When all that blows up, she may be gone – and hunky Dr. Nate’s single once again.
If so, Young and the Restless might pair Elena Dawson with him. Clearly, the show needs to find a storyline for Brytni Sarpy. That was one of the issues over at GH. After one short arc, they struggled to place her in a meaningful plotline.
For now, it seems clear that Brytni Sarpi is not leaving and Elena Dawson will stick around. But Y&R needs to do right by her and come up with a solid story and get her into the action with others on the character canvas on the soap…
