After the Wednesday US episode, fans will be asking if Elena Dawson is leaving Y&R. Why? Because she says she is. For a few weeks now, Brytni Sarpy’s character struggled with Nate Hasting’s (Sean Dominic) awful behavior.
Her boyfriend’s plotting to screw over his family. Elena on Young and the Restless wants to stop him from hurting Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), her ex-boyfriend. But she also doesn’t want to be the one to detonate this bombshell.
So, Elena feels like the best thing is to take herself out of the mix. The beautiful doctor marches to the Chancellor-Winters offices and bursts into the executive suite. It sure looks like she’s there to rat out Nate to Devon and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) on Y&R…
Brytni Sarpy Exits Y&R?
Instead of telling the execs the truth — that Nate’s conspiring with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she pulls him aside. Young and the Restless spoilers indicate Elena tells him she’s interviewing for a new position far from Genoa City.
So, Elena Dawson is leaving the state entirely. She’s considering a job in Baltimore. That’s a far cry from GC. However, there are Y&R spoilers for her later this week. So today isn’t her last air date — if she’s really leaving at all.
One big hint though is that a month ago, Brytni Sarpy seems to have suffered some sort of letdown. The Young and the Restless star posted on her social media saying, “I’m not the victim. I’m the hero who narrowly escaped a life lesser than what she deserved.”
The photo has her looking calm and meditative. But is this a personal or professional letdown? It looks like she and co-star Bryton James have split since they’ve scrubbed their shared photos from their social timelines…

The Instagram post was from four weeks ago and Y&R shoots about four-six weeks ahead. So, if Brytni’s been let go from the CBS soap, and these are her last episodes, the timing could align. There’s no official word though.
For now, Elena Dawson leaving Young and the Restless seems likely since she tells Nate that’s her plan. But then this Friday on the US Y&R episode, he begs her for another chance. But unless he quits this sabotage scheme, she won’t stay.
So, we might be seeing the last of her on Y&R soon. If so, it’d be a shame. She’s a talented beauty and we’ve just lost Mishael Morgan who opted to cut back from contract to recurring (if you’re wondering where’s Amanda Sinclair).
Is Elena leaving the CBS soap opera? Maybe. She sounds certain. But also, with Amanda increasingly out of town, there’s a door cracked open for an “Elevon” reunion. Wait and see what happens.
