‘Young and the Restless’: Ashland Locke Storyline Tires Fans
Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) has been front and center for months on Young and the Restless. However, it seems obvious the powers that be have no idea how to redeem this character on the CBS soap opera. His continued antics have become tiresome for some fans.
Ashland Locke Storyline Frustrating Per Y&R News
Fans are frustrated as they watch the Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Ashland storyline unfold. At times Ashland’s been portrayed as a ruthless businessman who set out to deceive his wife from the get-go. Other times he seems to love Victoria truly.
It is evident that the writers have figured out his path as they go along. He displayed symptoms of his cancer when he was alone. So, it makes no sense that he faked his illness.
Why would he have coughing fits without an audience? So the writers changed course in the middle of the action on Young and the Restless.

They can’t decide if Ashland Locke is a horrible person or just misunderstood. However, now viewers are to believe that no matter how their relationship started, Ash loves Victoria. But how can the intelligent woman remain with a lying con artist?

The surprising casting change has not helped the relationship between Vikki and Ashland. While Amelia has chemistry with both actors, that change was jarring. The new face of Ashland has caused several fans to feel the connection between the pair was lost.

The audience shares Victoria’s confusion about her next step. With a new actor filling the role and the change-up pulled by the writing staff, it is hard to know who to root for. Is Ashland in love with Victoria? And even if he is, does that change the horrible acts he has committed?

With all of the back and further, do the writers even know where the “Astoria” romance leads? Some viewers guess Ashland Locke could die in a who-done-it murder mystery.
However, with another prominent character scheduled to leave soon, it seems unlikely that Ash will depart from Young and the Restless.

Now that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has offered the Locke Ness Monster a serious amount of cash to leave town and Victoria, Ashland Locke’s real motivation is exposed. Does he take the money and run? Or will he turn it down to prove his love for his wife?
No matter what he chooses to do, it is time to move this crazy story to its conclusion. Is another shocking twist in the works? Or does “true” love conquer all?
