Who died on My 600-lb Life? There are lost lives galore on the TLC show. It’s because most people that come to see Dr. Younan Nowzaradan are very morbidly obese. So, here are the lives lost over the years.

Most Recent My 600-lb Life Death: Destinee Lashaee (Matthew Ventress)

Earlier this year, a groundbreaking cast member from the TLC show passed away. That was Matthew Ventress, who also goes by their trans name, Destinee Lashaee.

Destinee appeared on My 600-lb Life Season 7, Episode 10, Destinee’s Story. She talked about her ongoing struggles with mental health and depression in her episode.

She said food is what she turns to but said she can “feel it killing me”. Destinee Lashaee qualified for surgery and lost nearly 500 pounds along the way. She kept fans updated post-show.

Sometimes Destinee appeared as her alter-ego Matthew, posing shirtless to show off her much trimmer figure. Then, on January 30, 2022, she posted several stunningly beautiful photos of herself in a beach evening dress.

A week later, on February 8, 2022, My 600-lb Life’s Destinee Lashaee took her own life at age 31. Her brother, Wayne Compton announced her death on social media saying how sorry he was that she felt she had no “other options”.

Destinee’s suicide came a day after the one-year anniversary of her sister, Destiny Compton, who she honored in her choice of trans name. Ms. Compton was a victim of a tragic shooting ate age 20.

Gina Marie Krasley Sadley Passes

My 600-lb Life deaths also include Gina Marie Krasley who appeared on Season 8 Episode 5. During her time on the TCL hit show, Gina revealed childhood trauma triggered her binge eating problems.

She said that food was the only thing that “made me forget the pain”. She was over six hundred pounds as she began her journey. Gina struggled on Dr. Now’s diet and didn’t drop enough weight to qualify for surgery.

She later was one of several alums that sued My 600-lb Life. On her own, she dropped down to 400 lbs but then lost her life due to a mystery illness on August 1, 2021, at 30-years-old.

She’s survived by her wife, Beth Krasley, who also appeared on the show with her. She struggled with a serious cellulitis infection and peripheral neuropathy and had been ill for months before she passed.

Renee Biran from My 600 Pound Life Passes

Another that died from My 600-Lb Life was Renee Biran from Season 6, Episode 11. The former plus-sized model went to Dr. Younan Nowzaradan for help when she lost control and her scale tipped at over six hundred pounds.

She was age 53 and weighed 631 pounds as she began her journey with Dr. Now. The Georgia native relied on her kids and faced organ failure due to morbid obesity. She’d been obese since childhood, at almost 300-lbs by age 14.

Childhood trauma led to weight gain. And a job loss led her to earn money for men obsessed with the feeder fetish. She lost weight and got the surgery but her health spiraled out of control. This led to Renee Biran’s death at age 56 on May 14, 2021.

Who Died on My 600-lb Life? Coliesa McMillian

There were four My 600-lb Life deaths of cast members in 2019 and 2020. Coliesa McMillian was on Season 8, Episode 12.

But after Coliesa she died, TLC pulled the episode from all streaming services and Discovery Plus.

Coliesa MacMillian came to the series after losing her fiance and suffering a heart attack at 41. She was a mom of four starting her journey weighing 643 pounds. Then, she qualified for surgery but then her health issues spiraled.

She went was put in a medically induced coma at the same time her episode aired. Coliesa reportedly suffered complications from her weight loss surgery, including a popped suture. This led to sepsis. Coliesa McMillian died at age 41 on September 22, 2020.

James King from My 600-lb Life Died

James King’s story aired on My 600-lb Life Season 5, Episode 11. He was close to 800 pounds at the time. The Kentucky native tried to drop to get surgery but ultimately gained up to 840 lbs as seen on Where Are They Now?

James died at age 49 on April 3, 2020. He died of kidney failure after dropping more than 340 pounds towards his goal. Two more deaths preceded these in 2019.

Kelly Mason Dies

Kelly Mason died while filming her episode of My 600-lb Life. She worked hard and qualified to get gastric surgery by dropping 273 pounds from her starting weight of more than 725 pounds. Kelly had lost 70 pounds after surgery.

She was looking forward to her new life when she passed away suddenly on February 15, 2019, from heart failure. So, Kelly Mason was the second patient to die while filming the TLC series. She was on Season 7, Episode 13.

Sean Milliken Died in 2019 After Incredible Weight Loss

Sean Milliken was the heaviest person ever to appear on My 600-lb Life, with a starting weight of 919 pounds. He was immobile and in intense pain when he sought Dr. Nowzaradan’s help.

Another victim of childhood trauma, like so many of Dr. Now’s patients and was already over 150 by age 9. He topped at over 1000 lbs at one point. Then, he moved to Houston and dropped the weight needed for surgery.

Sean featured on My 600-lb Life Season 4, Episode 11, and also on Where Are They Now? He’d been doing better but lost his mother and then his home from Hurricane Harvey. Then, he reportedly packed on nearly 300 pounds in just two months.

Sean Millikin died from cardiac arrest reportedly due to complications from an infection. He died on February 17, 2019. He was 29. Ironically, doctors warned if he didn’t lose weight, he wouldn’t make it to age 30.

More My 600-lb Life Deaths – Lisa Fleming

Season 6 Episode 7 of My 600-lb Life featured Lisa Fleming. Her episode was very upsetting to fans as she found maggots in the folds of her skin. And sadly, Lisa was bedridden in the same bed her mother died in of obesity complications.

Lisa Fleming came onto the show at over 700 pounds then got surgery from Dr. Now and dropped 200 lbs. But she died on August 23, 2018, at age 50, reportedly from a heart attack. Lisa Fleming’s daughter said her mother’s body just “gave out”.

James LB Bonner Died by Suicide

A particularly tragic death from My 600-lb Life is the suicide of James LB Bonner at the age of 30. During his weight loss journey, he went from 650 pounds down to 270. His parents said he was still sticking to the program up until his death.

He’d lost a leg in an accident and struggled with alcohol usage before he filmed Season 6, Episode 6. And all this led to LB’s depression, said his parents. On August 2, 2018, at age 30, LB shot himself. His episode has also been taken down from all streaming platforms.

TLC Star Robert Buchel Dies

In 2017, Robert Buchel died while filming My 600-lb Life. Season 6, Episode 8. He hoped to marry his fiancee Kathryn and start a family. Dr. Now did surgery to remove a 40-lb lymphedema mass with plans to remove another.

After surgery, he struggled with weaning off painkillers and grew progressively more immobile. After a lengthy stay in a step-down rehab facility, Robert suffered a heart attack during the filming process and died on November 15, 2017.

The first person to die from the series was from Season 1, Episode 4, My 600-lb Life alum Henry Foots. He was 47 and started at a weight of 715 pounds. He hoped to slim down for his class reunion.

Henry was a big success story losing 440 pounds on his journey, and dropping down to 275 pounds. He was working as a bus driver at the time of his death and a medical event caused him to lose control of the vehicle, killing a pedestrian.

Henry Foots from My 600-lb Life season 1 died six months later at the age of 57 on May 16, 2013. That was a little over a year after his TLC episode aired.
