‘Welcome to Plathville’: Moriah Says Mom’s Feud with Olivia Put Her off Marriage
Welcome to Plathville star Moriah Plath may be hesitant about marriage and it’s all about the family feud fans saw explode at the end of season two and carries over into season three of the hit TLC reality show. Welcome to Plathville Season 3: Max Kallschmidt Plans to Marry Moriah Plath
On the season premiere, Moriah’s boyfriend Max told Micah Plath he’s got a big surprise planned for her. As their one-year anniversary nears, Max wants to give Moriah Plath a promise ring for her pinkie finger. Already, he knows that she’s the woman that he wants to marry. And Micah’s ready to help with the plans.
On that episode of Welcome to Plathville, Micah and Lydia helped get Moriah Plath’s ring size so Max can bring the ring at a family dinner at Kim and Barry’s house. What’s also changed since last season is that Micah, Max, and Moriah are welcome at the table. It seems once the cameras went away, two of the three estranged siblings reconciled with their parents.
And ultra-conservative Barry and Kim didn’t seem to bat an eye at Moriah kissing and hugging Max on Welcome to Plathville. In a recent interview, Moriah said it’s because she began the relationship as an adult outside their home. That’s quite unlike Olivia and now-husband Ethan. And when talking to US Weekly, Moriah revealed the family fracture gave her second thoughts about marriage.
Olivia vs. Kim Grudge is Tearing Ethan Plath Apart
Welcome to Plathville Season 2 ended with a confrontation that almost came to blows between Ethan and his dad Barry Plath. If you don’t recall, Ethan wanted to say goodbye to his younger siblings. His parents were willing to let him come to the house to do that. But, they didn’t want his wife, Olivia Plath, to come inside.
That set off Ethan and he told his dad off in what many Welcome to Plathville fans say was a long overdue man-to-man talk. Since then, Ethan’s hard hit by the separation from his siblings. That stress puts a strain on his marriage to Olivia. Remember, this is an extremely close-knit family that prayed and played music together.
To be cut off from all but two, Moriah and Micah, takes its toll on Ethan and his marriage. This plays out on the current season of Welcome to Plathville. Of course, Moriah Plath sees what her big brother’s going through. And Micah told the magazine that the rift with Olivia really exploded at their wedding. And that’s what had Moriah think twice about ever getting married herself.
Mariah Turned off of Marriage because of Welcome to Plathville Family Feud?
As Micah revealed, power was out until right before the wedding, due to Hurricane Michael. That stressed out Olivia. Also, Kim Plath reportedly was acting like a mother-of-the-groom-zilla and “tried to make it her wedding”. Moriah Plath said that was very stressful and said they saw a different side of many people involved with the nuptials.
Then, Moriah said seeing her family deal with that epic tension made her ask does she want to get married? Of course, her romance with Max is on a different path, as seen on Welcome to Plathville. And we expect to see the big scene where he gives her the promise ring. Then we’ll see for sure how Moriah Plath feels about the notion of marriage.
Given how much Moriah loves her man Max, it’s doubtful that Olivia and Kim’s issues would dim her enthusiasm for being his wife one day. But we’ll have to wait and see how it goes. He’ll spring the surprise on Moriah Plath later this season on the TLC show.
