‘Welcome to Plathville’: Lydia Plath Tries on Clothes that Reveal Too Much?

Welcome to Plathville: Lydia Plath Branches Out with Clothes
A Welcome to Plathville leak showed Lydia Plath in some new clothes. And not something she’d normally have chosen. It started with a trip to Moriah’s house. While spending some time with her sister, Moriah Plath told Lydia she should try on some of her clothes. But, Lydia Plath wasn’t so sure it was a good idea. Lydia told Moriah they had very different styles. And that she didn’t think Moriah had anything she’d like.
But, Moriah persisted and talked Lydia Plath into doing it. So, Lydia put on a couple of Moriah’s dresses. For one, she kept her tank top on underneath, because Lydia felt it was too revealing otherwise. Another dress that she wore, Lydia claimed was way too short. And when her Welcome to Plathville sister brought out a pair of shorts, Lydia Plath said Moriah ruined a perfectly good pair of pants to make them.
Lydia Plath’s Clothing History
The Welcome to Plathville family had a very conservative lifestyle. Kim and Barry Plath restricted pretty much everything they could when it came to their offspring. Including how their clothes. The parents dressed their children in long pants or skirts and high necked shirts. And didn’t even let them put on bathing suits for the beach. The kids all had to have on long sleeves and pants or long dresses. Barry Plath said that this was partly because they only went to the beach in the off seasons, when the weather wasn’t that good.
But, some of the older children said that those types of clothes were their usual style. And that they grew up wearing ultra conservative clothing. So, some of the older children started to push back on the issue. But, not Lydia Plath. She seemed to approve of the clothes they wore. So, Lydia continued to choose those types of outfits. But, when the first season of Welcome to Plathville aired, Moriah Plath had already gained some freedom in that regard and changed her look.
Welcome to Plathville: The Sisters Have Different Styles
It was obvious to viewers when Welcome to Plathville started that Lydia Plath and Moriah were very different. Moriah Plath rebelled against her parents and their restrictive lifestyles during the first season of the show. And eventually Moriah moved out of the household. Even when she lived at home, Moriah Plath had started to branch out. She wore ripped jeans and tight shirts. Moriah also wore makeup.
As season two of Welcome to Plathville progressed, Moriah Plath’s look changed even more. Her clothes got smaller and shorter. And Moriah Plath even said that she wore clothes that looked like the manufacturer ran out of fabric. But, Moriah was happy to be able to make those choices for herself.
On the other hand, Lydia Plath continued to wear clothes that didn’t show much. While they weren’t quite as bad as what the sisters’ grew up wearing, they were definitely conservative. After trying on Moriah’s clothes, Lydia Plath said that she would never go out in any of them. Lydia said that she believed that her Welcome to Plathville body was a temple. And that keeping it covered would, “present it in a way that’s honoring to God.” So, it looks like Lydia Plath was just having some fun. And her clothes won’t be changing anytime soon.
