Abe Schmucker made his television debut in 2012 starring in Breaking Amish on TLC. The series continued and he remained as one of the original cast members. In 2013 he appeared in Breaking Amish: Brave New World. In 2014 he remains a star of Return to Amish.
Abe Schmucker left his tight-knit Amish community behind for a new start in the English world. It was hard for him to leave the way of life he knew behind. However, Abe did meet his now-wife, Rebecca Schmucker, while on the show.
The two quickly bonded over their similar upbringings. He is joined in the English world by his mom Mama Mary Schmucker and brother Andrew Schmucker. A little known fact is that Abe is the cousin of Amish Mafia siblings Esther & John Schmucker.
The English world offers many conveniences, but also requires a lot of money. Abe Schmucker works as a truck driver to support his family. He is away from home while working on the road. His wife wanted to get an education and find a career, but Abe held on to his old fashioned upbringing. He wanted her to stay put and take care of the kids and home. He supports her education and she got a GED. Rebecca continues to stay at home to care for their two daughters, Malika and Kayla.
While still in Pennsylvania and living close to the community they grew up in Abe and his family will not Return to Amish. They prefer the freedom and opportunities for adventure the English world has to offer.
