From what he said, he’s got a new job, but how long it will last is in question. Still, there’s so much more going on for the new season and Kody’s new gig is only a small part of it.

The husband who once had four wives is now down to three. By now that’s old news for Sister Wives fans. But Season 17 offers the details of how this happened.

So far viewers watched a shocked Kody Brown find boxes of his stuff packed and put out in Christine Brown’s garage. He toyed with the idea that she was bluffing at first. But then it seemed some genuine worry came over him. Fans know now he needed to worry because she was serious.

Once fans learned that Christine Brown was no longer part of the Sister Wives clan, they worried. They thought she might not show up on the show again. But Christine will be in Season 17 despite living in another state.

Recently, Kody and Christine Brown’s son Paedon opened a door for fans to get a glimpse of what’s going on behind the scenes with the family.

TLC hasn’t made an official statement on the return of the show. But both Kody and Paedon confirmed it for the fans. Paedon went as far as predicting a few more seasons may lurk beyond the next one.

He claims the viewers climbed in numbers and he believes that’s due to the drama. So, with the drama about to unravel in Season 17, it looks like it paves the way for more Sister Wives seasons.

Sister Wives: Papa Brown Tries Out New Gig

When making personalized videos for fans, Kody slipped. He started to share a story and then caught himself. Kody Brown said that doesn’t come up until Season 17. But he shared enough to describe what he’s up to. He’s stepping into a new position, but it sounds like a one-off thing.

He said he has a good friend who’s been a bachelor all his life and is finally getting married. Kody officiates the wedding. It seems his friend figured the Sister Wives patriarch is in tune with marriage. At the time he asked Kody to do this, he still had four wives.

So, in Season 17 Kody will marry a couple and the fans get to watch him as he does this. Some may find this a bit ironic as one wife left him and there is turmoil with the other two remaining brides.

But Kody said he officiates the ceremony for his friend. Who knows, he might like being in front of a crowd to marry this couple. So, maybe he’ll continue and become “Pastor Kody” as a side-job.

When Does Season 17 Roll Out?

Through the years, Sister Wives season premieres rolled out in different months. It’s not like there’s a typical month for the series to start a new season.

So, this means Season 17 could start at any time in the future. TLC tends not to announce the start of the season too long in advance. Sometimes it’s only a few weeks of notice that fans get before the new season starts.

So, this means the announcement of the Season 17 debut can come at any time. Once it does it could only be weeks away from starting up.
