‘Sister Wives’: Kody Brown Ditches Meri – for Good?
Sister Wives star Meri Brown confirms her marriage to Kody Brown is over. In a new TLC peek at Sunday’s Sister Wives One-on-One special, she will discuss the collapse of her 32-year marriage and where she plans to go from here.
Sister Wives: Meri Brown’s Complicated Relationship with Kody Brown
Fans of the TLC reality series Sister Wives know that Meri and Kody have been navigating a complicated and troubling relationship for several years. In 1990, she was the first of the wives to marry Kody.
Throughout the years, he brought in Janelle Brown and Christine Brown as his spiritual wives. But in 2014, they legally divorced so he could marry his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and legally adopt her children from her first marriage.
During Season 15 of Sister Wives, Meri and Kody’s relationship began to unravel. Meri was unhappy with how her romantic and intimate relationship with her husband was fading away.
Then, in 2021, during an interview with Us Weekly, he announced his relationship with Meri Brown was not going well. He said they had not been on the same page for a long time.
He also states, despite the status of his relationship with wife number 1, he didn’t feel he could “ever end things officially on his own.” But now, things within the Brown family are drastically changing. Not only with him and spiritual wives Janelle and Christine but for her as well.
Did Kody Blindside Meri?
On Sunday, she will sit down with Sister Wives: One on One host Sukanya Krishnan and discuss her relationship with Kody. But, first, she painfully watches a clip of him describing their relationship. During the clip, he says he doesn’t consider himself married to Meri.
He also adds, “If she wanted to move on and marry another, she wouldn’t get an argument from me.” When Sukanya asks the Sister Wives star how she feels watching the clip, she says she has “never heard him say that.” She continues to explain her thoughts.
I'm not sure if this is so much of a "divorce announcement" as Meri being forced to admit that she knows Kody doesn't want her, but here it is! #SisterWivesTLC #SisterWives pic.twitter.com/5lwAhxlBOl

She says she doesn’t understand. “It doesn’t make sense to me that he would be so frustrated with Christine and be like she just made this decision. We didn’t consult, we didn’t talk, she just made the decision, and then he says, ‘No, I don’t consider myself married to Meri,” she says.
Sister Wives: What’s Next for the Brown Family?
Meri of Sister Wives continues to say that it confuses her. But, she adds, “Ever since Flagstaff, he has led me to believe he was trying.” She recalls the first anniversary in Flagstaff, she had hope that things were moving forward.
But, it has changed. She says during the last anniversary, he said to her, ‘I don’t know why you called me, Meri. We’re not married. We’re not acting as married.’
The TLC reality star says she confronted him about his statement saying, “Then if that is where we’re at, shouldn’t we address that publicly?” She says he responded by saying he did not want to address it. “I don’t want that to be out there publicly because I don’t want that judgment.”
I wonder if Meri watches the show. K flat out says “she can marry someone else” & “she’s defending me but I have no desire to be in a marriage with her” & yet she still holds onto some imaginary string that one day it’ll change. Girl, he’s just not that into you! #sisterwives

When Krishnan asks the Sister Wives star, “Are you still married to Kody? Or do you get to decide?” She replies, “Well, he’s already made that decision. You just saw him say that.”
Despite everything, when it all comes down to it, she is still very much in love with her ex-husband. She says she would absolutely consider reconciling with him. But she doesn’t believe he has any interest.
This development leaves many viewers wondering where the Brown family will go from here. Is this the end of their long-running reality series? Or does the network have a few new plans for continuing with the Sister Wives series?
