Married at First Sight: Jose San Miguel is an Exacting Spouse
Married at First Sight, cast member Jose San Miguel is a very structured person. Jose said he holds himself to a high standard, and he expects his wife, Rachel Gordillo, to do the same. The new groom said his wife is classy, educated, simple, and humble, which he wanted in a wife.
Rachel’s mother and a friend sat down with Jose San Miguel for the Married at First Sight breakfast the morning after the wedding. He was very courteous to his mother-in-law as they got to know each other. Jose said they have so many things in common, and he hasn’t seen anything negative yet.
But when Rachel Gordillo’s mother spoke about her lifestyle, Jose’s eyebrows shot up. Mom told him that Rachel’s house is messy because she devotes so much time to her studies. Jose San Miguel made a face when he heard about his new bride’s housekeeping habits on Married at First Sight.
MAFS: Rachel Skeptical of Husband’s Extreme Personality
While Jose San Miguel met with her parents, Rachel met with his parents and step-mom. One thing she learned is that her husband is a fanatic about time. Rachel seemed surprised to hear that and gave a sharp look to her spouse’s father. During their Married at First Sight vows, Jose learned that Rachel needs to set 20 alarms to get up in the morning.
Then Rachels asked about Jose’s extreme personality on Married at First Sight. Rachel’s question went unanswered for several seconds until her father-in-law finally said he takes it pretty seriously. The family told Rachel Gordillo about Jose San Miguel’s financial board hanging on his wall. Rachel confessed she doesn’t save much, but she hoped her husband would be financially savvy.

Fans of Married at First Sight wish the couple the best, but will their differences bring them together or push them apart? Jose San Miguel is very structured in his lifestyle, while Rachel is more laid-back. Rachel spends her energies on her education but doesn’t focus so much on her household or the state of her car.
Married at First Sight: Differences Cause Jose to Reconsider?
Jose San Miguel Jr said he and his wife have an unbelievable connection with each other right from the start. He told her mother he hadn’t seen anything negative yet. But then learned a few things that made him purse his lips together on Lifetime’s Married at First Sight.
On Married at First Sight, Rachel’s friend told Jose she couldn’t wait until he rode in her car. Jose San Miguel asked if it looked like a hurricane went through it? He found out that Rachel hit a few things in her car, which caused him to pause for a moment. During their vows, he discovered that when she gets hungry, it’s not a good thing.
But Jose likes to cook, so he can handle that, he said. Jose San Miguel doesn’t yet know much about his wife, and at first, it seems they have a lot in common. But do they really? Already he is learning new things about his new wife, Rachel Gordillo. Will their opposite lifestyles cause problems within the relationship on Married at First Sight?
