Married at First Sight: Virginia Coombs Tries to Keep Divorce Under Wraps
Virginia Coombs of Married at First Sight hadn’t shared many photos of herself with Erik Lake. Even after she colored her hair dark, she made an appearance with him for his birthday. Lifetime fans thought it looked a little off and unnatural but gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Married at First Sight star Virginia said they were still together right before their divorce documents hit. SD got hold of the documents one hour after they were available. Erik Lake doesn’t have to pay any money, nor does Virginia Coombs. They only used Erik’s lawyer, so she had to sign a waiver saying she knew it was his lawyer and that she should seek her own legal counsel.
Virginia chose to represent herself in the divorce, and her hubby’s lawyer did all of the paperwork. Married at First Sight fans think the couple lied about their relationship due to their Couples Cam commitment. But the cat is out of the bag now, and their divorce should be final on July 30th since they filed it on June 29th. The documents below show it’ll be over in 31 days from the filing date.
Erik Lake Ready to Be Done with His Marriage
Married at First Sight hubby Erik always gave ultimatums throughout his relationship. Whether it was the house, the pets, Virginia Coombs’ drinking, or something else – he wouldn’t have it. It seems like Erik Lake was more than happy to take care of the lawyer to get rid of Virginia.
This marriage was Erik’s second marriage, so he knew how to get out of it. Virginia Coombs of Married at First Sight hasn’t lived with Erik Lake since April 29th, 2021, when they split. The reports of Virginia living in another apartment without Erik seemed to have panned out.
Married at First Sight celebrity Erik Lake made it very clear that his career was important to him. And Chris Williams alleges Virginia’s bad influence got him a DUI. Being a pilot, this is a major problem for his career outlook if it is true. However, so far, a thorough search of county records in the state of Georgia has turned up no such arrest. Married at First Sight: Virginia & Erik Were a Disaster Waiting to Happen
Virginia Coombs thought she was in love with Erik Lake pretty quickly. Erik admitted he fell very fast for Virginia as well, but his mother thought it might not be real just yet. On the reunion show for the Married at First Sight season, his mother said she loves Virginia Coombs – however that feeling might not be the same now.
The papers above show that they split in late April. Then they drew up divorce papers on June 11. Then it was this afternoon that Erik Lake’s lawyer e-filed them with the county. They will have a hearing in 31 days and should be granted their divorce on July 30, 2021. Fans of Married at First Sight said the experts made a big mess out of this one, and their pending divorce seems to agree.
The split looks clean – everyone will keep what they brought into the marriage. There’s no alimony or settlements Erik keeps his car and Virginia keeps hers. And the house, of course, is his. While she posted above that they were taking their relationship “offline” because social media is “toxic” maybe she meant offline as in over. Because these document show they are officially done.
