‘Married at First Sight’: 5 Biggest Red Flags for Rachel & Jose’s Marriage

Married at First Sight fans hoped Rachel Gordillo and her new husband Jose San Miguel Jr would work out. But we’re showing five of the biggest red flags that mean their marriage is going down the tubes.

1.  Married at First Sight – Jose San Miguel Doesn’t Want an Independent Woman

Jose keeps saying how perfect Rachel is, but then he continues to try to change her. She wants to take care of herself and contribute to the marriage 50/50. However, Jose thinks he is the man and that he should take care of her.

MAFS husband Jose keeps trying to do things for her that she thinks she should do for herself. Also, when she tries to do things for him, she said he wouldn’t let her. When she spoke with Myrla Feria, she said she would just let Jose San Miguel Jr do it.

Myrla doesn’t care that Gil of Married at First Sight takes care of her, but Rachel Gordillo can’t get past how it makes her feel. She said she worked so hard to become independent that it’s not a good feeling for her. It doesn’t seem like that’s something Jose can let slide.

2. Rachel Gordillo Wants Her Own Money

There is a term in Spanish that means “kept woman,” and Rachel said that isn’t what she wants to be. Jose continues to say that he worked hard all of his life to be able to take care of his wife. He has two houses, and he wants to live in one of them with her.

Rachel Gordillo from Married at First Sight said that living in his house would make her feel like it’s his. He countered, saying that what is his is hers and vice versa. Despite his assurances, his new wife didn’t think it was a good idea.

When Jose San Miguel Jr said they should put their money into one account and she can draw from there – she was not happy about it. She said she wants to have her own account and not have to worry about it. Her dad taught her to take care of herself and not depend on a man for money.

3. Married at First Sight – Parental Type Activities

On the honeymoon, Jose did something really weird. And according to Rachel, this is a common thing that he does. She said he does things that are parental, like trying to brush her teeth and feed her.

Rachel said she is a grown woman, and she doesn’t want to have someone feeding her. Jose San Miguel Jr said he really likes doing it, so she tried feeding him. She said it wasn’t that bad, and her husband wasn’t sure how to take that.

Married at First Sight wife Rachel Gordillo said she would rather they not do things like that. Even so, she tried not to be weird about it and obviously has an attraction to her husband.

4. Jose Needs His Boxes Ticked Before Bedroom Time

Rachel of Married at First Sight wants to hop into bed with her husband for some private time. However, Jose is pumping the brakes on that special interaction. It seems like she is a little confused since he’s more than happy to kiss her.

Lifetime’s Jose told her that he has to have certain boxes ticked before he does that. She seemed a little confused about what she could do to get him to that point. Many Married at First Sight viewers don’t think they will ever get to that point in their relationship.

It doesn’t seem like Jose San Miguel Jr is even telling her what she needs to do to tick those boxes. It seems like he doesn’t want to take the relationship to that level.

5. Married at First Sight – Basic Financial Differences

Rachel from Married at First Sight admitted that she isn’t great at saving. Jose said he is amazing at saving and does well with his money. He also admitted that he asked for someone “on his level,” which scared his wife.

Married at First Sight wifey Rachel Gordillo said she needs to get better, but she likes to take big trips. Jose San Miguel Jr said they would need to stop doing that so they could save money to have children.
