Kody Brown Accuses Christine of Lying in ‘Sister Wives: One on One’ Part 3 Tell-All RECAP

On Part 3 of Sister Wives: One on One, Kody Brown accuses Christine Brown of making up things. And he says intimacy was only a “duty”. Plus, he says he’s happy to be out from under the burden of a “loveless marriage”. It’s all about Kody and his ex Christine as Season 16 wraps. Enjoy the recap of Season 16, Episode 13.

Christine Brown & Kody Brown Agree They’re Divorced on Tell-All Part 3

First on the couch is Christine Brown who says she and Kody Brown are “divorced”. She says they’ll be friends eventually. Also, she said she was done with her heart being broken. She felt free after that.

Then, Kody says Christine left and moved away. He confirms they’re “no longer married”. But he says he loves her and doesn’t know what to do, He’s got grief and anger both. He says the rest of the family will feel “relief”.

Then, Robyn Brown calls it a “waste” and says they could have figured it out (meaning Christine and Kody). Then, there are tears and she says they shouldn’t give up if they didn’t “actually” try to fix it. She says she’s devastated by Christine’s choice.

She calls Christine part of her “big picture” and says her kids are too. Then, Robyn says for years she’s wanted to be close to Christine. She says divorce breaks everything.

Janelle Brown Contradicts Robyn Brown About The Two Sister Wives Exes “Trying”

Janelle Brown says they tried. She contradicts Robyn and says Kody tried and so did Christine, She mentions counseling and other efforts. She wonders who you are when you’ve been part of something for 25 years.

And Janelle says she’s trying not to take sides. Meri Brown says this is “so new” to her and she’s still trying to wrap her head around it. She says it doesn’t make sense. Christine says she wondered if she was being selfish.

Her choice affected a huge family but she decided she has to live her life for herself too. Then, Christine says she wasn’t present or happy. Sukanya asks if Kody Brown questions polygamy. He says some people are cut out for it and some are not.

Then, Kody Brown says he knows “fundamentalist Mormons” doing a better job at this than me. Then, the host shows him a clip. It’s him telling the Sister Wives that he didn’t want to be an “advocate of plural marriage”.

Back then, he said Christine Brown’s complaints about plural marriage unraveled him. In another clip, he said he didn’t “give a sh*t”. Meri questioned where his attitude left them. And Kody said in the clip that the family was an “obstacle to his own goals”.

And Janelle said back then that was selfish. Kody said he’s seen the women treat each other “so sh*tty”. He wonders if it was a waste of time and a failure.

Kody Admits He Made a Huge Mistake with Christine on Tell-All Part 3

Back to now, Kody Brown says that sums it up. He says he doesn’t care if the Sister Wives treat him crappy, but he doesn’t like them treating each other badly. Next, Kody says moving to Flagstaff was a wake-up call.

He says if he wasn’t in the mix, the family would be over. Meri says she hopes Kody can find the strength to carry on instead of walking away. And Christine Brown says the struggle’s been going for a long time.

She says back then hearing him say he didn’t want to try — it destroyed the last shred of hope she had. Kody says Christine told him once she hated plural marriage. That was before Robyn came into the family.

He says Christine talks about promoting plural marriage but then tells him she hates it. So, Kody says he saw the mistake he made. He says he should have told her that he loved her and validated what she said.

Instead, he got angry. And he says he should have asked God why the mess when he inspired Kody to do this. And Kody agrees he questions polygamy all the time. He says many women have pain.

Kody Admits He Could Have Saved Marriage to Third of the Sister Wives

Christine Brown says she doesn’t believe in polygamy for her anymore. She says God told her that she checked that box and can go. Janelle Brown says she does still believe in it. She says she struggled during COVID.

She says once, Kody Brown was away for six weeks and it was easy for her. Then, Robyn says what does Kody do if he doesn’t love plural marriage. She says in their culture, they’ve seen men leave all their wives or all but one.

As for Meri, she says she still sees the value in plural marriage. Sukanya asks if Kody can give up. And Meri says he can. She says he could walk away. The host asks Kody if the Sister Wives are all still in love with him.

He says he doesn’t know if it’s about love, determination, or commitment. Kody says he knows a couple of wives are wondering if they should stop this. He says it’s too late when the bridge is burning.

And Kody says this experience with Christine, takes him back 12 years. He says he could have validated it back then for her. Instead, he pulls a face and says she had righteous indignation.

He says he was like “what the crap” back then. He says looking back, if he could go back, would he save it with empathy? Sukanya asks if he could have saved it. Kody says we’ll never know.

Family Shutting Down Utah Return was Christine’s Break-Point

Sukanya Krishnan shows Kody Brown the clip of Christine saying she’d move to Flagstaff until the laws in Utah change. And Kody back then says, all his friends are in St. George, Utah. Then, there’s a family meeting where Christine asks them all to move back,

Janelle told her there was nothing in Utah for her. Kody says Flagstaff is the best place for the kids. And Christine said in confessional that he contradicted the conversation they had in private. Then, Christine tells Meri she can’t be married to him anymore.

Meri tried to calm her down as Christine Brown says she was tired of not having any support. In another talk, Kody tells Christine he’s sorry for being stoic. She says he was being an a** and she doesn’t believe he’s sorry.

She says she doesn’t want to live on a property next door to him with someone else in a functional marriage and asks “who in her right mind” would choose that. On the One on One couch, Kody Brown seems stunned.

Kody says he didn’t know she said it until he saw it on the show. He says he heard rumors from the kids that she was talking about ending it. And he says the other Sister Wives told him she threatened to leave.

He says moving isn’t simple or easy. Next, Kody says she “walked off with petulance”. He says he sees that Christine is frustrated because four other people were controlling her life.

Kody Calls Making Christine Happy a “Constant Burden”

Robyn says she didn’t realize that not moving back to Utah was a breaking point for Christine. And she says Kody’s marriage to Christine is “none of her business”. She says it’s “hard to watch”. Sukanya asks why.

Robyn gets teary again and says it’s one thing to be alone doubting the marriage but another to say it on camera to your sister wife. She says she had no idea and thought Meri was helping Christine. And she thought it’d be okay (in that flashback scene).

And wife four says she didn’t know Christine was telling her she wanted to leave. She didn’t know things were that bad. Now, Janelle says Christine Brown made a choice at that point she wasn’t going to have a functioning marriage.

She says sometimes you work on things and then they just don’t work out. She says maybe by then, Christine had decided to move. And Kody Brown says Christine was complaining since they moved to Vegas.

A Decade of Complaints — Kody Accuses on Tell-All

Kody says it was 10 years of complaining about everything in her life. He says that moment built up for years. He says he always tried to make her happy and called it a “constant burden”.

Meri says in that flashback, she just thought Christine was mad. She thought Christine was still committed to the family. So, she encouraged her to do the work to fix things.

Meri says it’s hard to put a mirror in front of yourself and see your own issues. She says you can’t just blame others. Sukanya asks Christine about looking at Meri’s marriage. And Christine says she wouldn’t stay in that — she said that moment was “no”.

She says there’s no hope in a future like that. Christine says Meri meant to comfort her but instead it was a breaking point. She calls that moment a wake-up call.

A Look Back to Happier Times on One on One Part 3 Recap

Flashback to Kody Brown taking Christine Brown on a helicopter ride. He says he really liked her when he first met her. She says he was the one he wanted to marry. He says he called her dad, the head of their church, and they married two months later.

We see them at their wedding dancing and happy. There are clips of affection and sweetness. Then, the cracks start to show. Kody says back then that Christine complained of a lack of intimacy. And she admitted she was jealous.

Then, in Vegas, there are fights. She’s upset and Kody says the problems are driven by her pride. Christine says she doesn’t believe anything he says. In Flagstaff, Christine says she was at a crossroads and breaks down crying.

Now, Kody says they didn’t know each other when they got married. He says they’d never been in tough situations and calls it a “bad match”. But he says in the first year, it was “magical”. He says he was in love with her for 10-12 years.

He says she was happy and eased the tension between Janelle and Meri. And Christine says she had to be bright and happy. And it was fine until it wasn’t, she says in our recap.

Christine Brown’s Father Was the Wake-up Call to Push Back on Sister Wives

She says her dad asked her at what point would she start saying no. According to TLC Twitter, her dad said she should say no instead of yes to everything. Christine Brown says that’s when she stood up for herself and Kody didn’t like it.

She says Kody Brown didn’t know what to do. She says he withdrew then she withdrew. Sukanya asks about their marriage therapy. Christine says it was awful and she found out he holds grudges.

She says it shocked her. Kody says he doesn’t carry grudges. He says anyone saying that doesn’t know him. Sukanya says when Christine started saying no, that was when it was a problem for him. Kody says they can do he-said-she-said until the cows come home.

He says he disagrees with a lot of what Christine’s said about him. He says he’s done defending himself. Then he tells the host that he doesn’t want to talk about Christien anymore. Then, he tells Sukanya he’s not angry with her.

Christine Says It’s Too Hard to See Kody with Other Sister Wives

Sukanya asks Christine Brown about intimacy. They show the clip of Christine talking about the door and him telling her that he doesn’t want an intimate marriage. In the Tell-All recap, she says he told her he didn’t like her behavior.

She says she didn’t know she was being “bad”. And Christine questions why she should have nothing in terms of intimacy while he’s intimate with other Sister Wives. Then, she says she doesn’t know what to tell the kids and cries.

She asks what she did that was so wrong. And she says she always wanted a romantic marriage and it’s been so hard for so long. She says she doesn’t have a choice but to move his stuff out. It’s too heartbreaking to see him with Robyn and Janelle.

We see Robyn and Kody’s reactions on small inset screens. Robyn looks upset. In the flashback, Kody looks at the boxes in the garage. He says he doesn’t know why she moved him out. He says he almost doesn’t care and is ambivalent.

Kody Says Christine Lied About Intimacy Convo on One on One Tell-All

Kody Brown says they didn’t discuss it, but he’s relieved from the burden and woe of a loveless marriage. Back to now, Christine says it’s the hardest time of her life. She says the hardest decision was to ask Kody not to be around anymore.

Sukanya brings up intimacy. Christine says they shut the door and she asked if they needed the privacy for intimacy. She says he said, “probably not”. Then, Kody says Christine came to him and asked about intimacy.

He says it was just some work that needed to be done around the house. Then, Kody claims he never said he said they’d “never” be intimate again. He claims what Christine said about their intimacy ending didn’t happen. And he says that talk didn’t occur.

But he admits he didn’t want to be intimate since she was “stabbing him in the back”. Sukanya asks why he didn’t talk to her, And Kody says he didn’t want her to leave. On the One on One recap, the host asks if he ever said that to Christine — and he says no.

Kody Calls Intimacy with Christine a “Duty” on Tell-All Part 3

Christine Brown says she found out Kody wasn’t attracted to her when they first got married. She says then he told her it was fine. Now, Christine says for years they didn’t even touch or hold hands and there was no intimacy. And he made it clear.

Then, she mocks him, doing his voice talking about his friends that live without intimacy in plural marriage. Christine says it’s insulting and wonders why he expects her to endure that. Kody says he thought Christine would ask for counseling — not move him out.

Kody Brown says he was shocked but also says a weight lifted. He says it’s tough for intimacy to be a duty. Then, Kody says he didn’t have the tools to ask what was wrong. He knows she’s been upset for years about polygamy.

He says she told other Sister Wives that she wanted to leave him. Then, he says he “did the dance” in Vegas of going to counseling. But he says she was never accountable. Christine says it felt good when Kody wasn’t there anymore since he didn’t want to be there.

Kody says he was angry. Now, he says grief and heartbreak settled in — and also awareness. He says it’s not that simple. He says he can’t look at those moments and regret them. Because there was so much pain in the years before it.

Christine’s Ex Hopes She Gets Married – But She’s Done Being Part of Sister Wives

Kody says he hopes Christine Brown gets married and is happy. Then, Sukanya asks Christine about dating. Christine says she’s dating herself and being present in her life.

Robyn says they’re still one big happy family. But Christine can go find someone she loves… or whatever. She says they’ll make the family bigger. Janelle says she has a new text thread without Christine. She says it feels like someone’s missing.

She says Christine is a lot happier, so she can’t be sorry about that. And Kody says he looks forward to the healing process and getting to be friends with her. He says the experience of marriage to her is over. He wants her healthy and well and happy.

Sukanya asks Christine about looking back and saying something to the woman she was. She says she doesn’t know and is just here now. That’s the end of Season 16 and Kody Brown’s marriage to Christine Brown.
