Is Tara Locke Leaving ‘Young and the Restless’?
Young and the Restless troublemaker Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) may be exposed soon – but does that mean she’s leaving Y&R? What’s ahead for this newcomer who’s on contract but has complications with several scene partners exiting the CBS soap?
Kyle Abbott Exits Soon – Is Tara Locke Leaving Young and the Restless Too?
There’s trouble ahead for Tara Locke. Her baby daddy, Kyle Abbott, isn’t sticking around. Michael Mealor personally confirmed – after Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott) leaked it – that he is leaving the role of Kyle. And he’s already wrapped filming his scenes as Kyle. So, that means we’ll see the last of the legacy son soon.
So, where does that leave Tara Locke and her son Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) on Young and the Restless? As of now, Kyle’s reportedly the biological father of Harrison. But that might be a tall tale since Tara’s clearly a schemer. The word leaking from the Y&R set is that Mealor and the soap couldn’t agree on terms for his contract renewal.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Leiner is on contract as Tara Locke – and was hired to stay for a while. Of course, Young and the Restless can change their mind about contract status at anytime. They’ve dropped actors and actresses from contract to recurring. And they’ve axed them without notice (case in point Gina Tognoni as Phyllis). So, if you’re wondering if Tara is leaving Y&R? The answer is maybe.
With Kyle Gone – What’s Next for Baby Mama on Y&R?
If they don’t recast Kyle on Young and the Restless – and there’s been no talk of that yet – that creates storyline issues. It would be way out of character for him to take off on his son with Tara. Meanwhile, fans are hoping that when he leaves, it’ll be to reunite with Summer Newman – since Hunter King’s also wrapped her run on the CBS sudser.
So, that points to a change of paternity for Harrison. Or something drastic like Tara Locke losing custody of her child to Kyle. The latter seems a long shot on Young and the Restless. But what does seem utterly feasible is that Tara lied to Kyle so she could unload her rich older husband and swap him for a hot younger wealthy one.
Recall, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) warned the Abbotts they had no idea what Tara Locke was capable of when they took her into their home. So, Young and the Restless spoilers hint they’ll find out soon. Recently, Tara posted a video of Ash arguing with her online. Then, she moved to file for sole custody. She’s playing a nasty game with her ex on Y&R.
Schemer Outed by Phyllis – Will Tara Exit Young and the Restless & Genoa City in Shame?
Now, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is hot on the trail of Tara Locke’s duplicity. When Red sets her mind to something, you’d better watch out. So far, Phyllis linked Tara to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). And she accurately guessed that they conspired to run Summer out of town – each for their own reasons. Now, she’s determined to take down Tara – and the other redhead.
This week on Young and the Restless, Phyllis stops playing nice and tells Tara Locke that she was faking friendship with her. She makes it clear that she’s coming for her for what she did to Summer. Of course, she doesn’t know about the blackmail Tara held over her daughter’s head. When Summer finds out Phyllis is strong-arming Tara, she tries to shut down her mom – but it’s too late.
When Red decides to go after someone, she’s like a rabid dog, as longtime Y&R viewers know. So, in the end, if Tara Locke leaves Young and the Restless, it will likely be thanks to Phyllis. And it also begs the question of whether it’ll turn out that Harrison is not really Kyle’s son. Wait to see what happens. There’s always a chance that Tara could stick around after his exit. We’ll know in just a few weeks.
