‘Young and the Restless’ CONFIRMED: Kyle Out – Tara Gone Too or Will Harrison Paternity Flip Back?

Young and the Restless spoilers confirm Kyle Abbott is out – Michael Mealor confirmed it himself on social media. So, does that mean Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) is out too along with Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez)? There are big questions surrounding his exit and how they’ll wrap his storyline. One insider at CBS offered some info on how Kyle might exit. And what that means for his baby mama and son.

Young and the Restless Actor Michael Mealor Confirms Exit as Kyle Abbott

Y&R casting news straight from Michael Mealor says that he is indeed leaving the role of Kyle Abbott. However, Jason Thompson, AKA Billy Abbott, already beat him to the punch. JT posted earlier wishing his castmate well. Others from the cast of Young and the Restless joined in quickly, complimenting Mealor on his acting talent and wishing him the best in the future.

An insider at CBS daytime said that Mealor already filmed his final scenes as Kyle Abbott and revealed how his Y&R character would be  written off the show. That same source said not to discount the possibility of a recast at some point. Since Mealor himself is a recast, it doesn’t seem unlikely that Young and the Restless might recast the role of Kyle.

As for Kyle’s counterpart, Summer Newman… Some reports say Hunter King left for other opportunities – others over contract issues. But Hunter has come and gone from Y&R in the past as she bounced between other gigs. So, she might not be recast unless Summer was needed full time and she couldn’t come back to Young and the Restless. Read on to see what the insider said about Kyle’s exit.

Y&R Spoilers: How Will Kyle Exit – With Tara or Summer?

Young and the Restless spoilers from a source behind the scenes said they’d already taped Michael Mealor’s exit. And the same source said that Kyle Abbott would jet off to Italy to be with his soulmate Summer Newman. That means leaving Tara Locke high and dry in Genoa City. Now, Tara’s gearing up to make a play for Kyle in coming days.

If the source is accurate, we could see the last of Kyle Abbott in a few weeks since Young and the Restless tapes about four weeks ahead. However, the same source also said Mealor hadn’t taped for weeks. So, it could be much sooner that Kyle’s gone from Y&R unless the soap stretches his taped footage to drag out his departure. And there are upcoming scenes for Summer!

So, most fans would be thrilled. If they must lose Kyle – to see him ride off in the sunset with Summer. As their mutual Young and the Restless exit. But we’ll have to wait and see how the soap goes with it. For now, we saw Hunter in what could be her last scenes – unless Y&R taped Summer having reunion scenes in Italy with Kyle.

Wouldn’t that be great for “Skyle” fans? For now, fans of the couple are barraging the network with calls and messages, hoping to get the young actors back. And you never know, it might work. For now, though, Mealor and King are out unless something changes at the CBS soap.

Will Young and the Restless Swap Harrison’s Paternity Given Mealor’s Exit?

Y&R writing out Kyle Abbott complicates other of the characters on the canvas. That starts with his brand-new son Harrison. There are a couple of ways to handle this. The con that Tara cooked up with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) could come out. And Kyle could insist they split custody. Then, he could run off to reunite with Summer in Italy with plans to visit his son regularly.

Or Young and the Restless could reveal that Tara conned Kyle and Harrison’s really Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) son and not his. That could send Kyle Abbott running off on the CBS soap. It would crush him to lose the kid he’s quickly gotten attached to. It seems strange that Tara would stick around after Kyle leaves if he’s the biological father of her child, right?

So, we’ll wait to see what other info on this big Young and the Restless exit comes out as we gear up to see Michael Mealor’s final episodes as Kyle. For now, the insider says that Kyle Abbott jets off to get his happily ever after in Milan. That would shock his true love Summer Newman. Let’s wait to see if it goes that way – and what happens with his son on Y&R.
