Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) from Young and the Restless is the son of a legacy character, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Maura West). His origin story is complex and utterly soapy.
His mom, Diane, tried to steal Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) sperm. But a plot to stop her resulted in her accidentally getting Jack’s instead. She made a baby on Y&R. And the result was Kyle Abbott, born in 2001, on Young and the Restless.
In 2012, when Blake Hood took on the role, it was with a drastic SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome). CBS daytime nearly doubled Kyle Abbott’s age on Young and the Restless to his early 20s.
After a year in the role of Kyle, Hartley Sawyer took his place on Y&R. Then, Lachlan Buchanan played the part for a year. Finally, in 2018, they cast Michael Mealor who’s settled into the role since then.
Kyle Abbott works on Young and the Restless at Jabot, the family business. He’s has had two wives – Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle).
He married Summer first and then Lola. But in the end on Young and the Restless, Kyle Abbott couldn’t stop thinking about his first love and his second marriage crumbled.
Now, his past is back to bite him as Kyle found out he has a son with a NYC fling, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner). She wants her son to know his father and moved to Genoa City to make that happen.
