Jazz Jennings knows that her mother is coming from a good place. But the TLC star feels it’s at the point where Jeanette can’t make all the decisions for her anymore. Yet, her mother admits to being involved in “a lot of details” of her daughter’s life. However, she isn’t ready to take a step back.
Jeanette Jennings feels that she and her daughter are co-dependent. She says that the I Am Jazz cast member uses her. And she doesn’t deny it. The TLC star says, “you know it, though.”
TLC Star Asks Jeanette Jennings for Freedom
Jazz Jennings feels that her mom should give her more freedom. However, Jeanette Jennings tells her that she does have freedom. Yet, she thinks she is “not good at certain things with the freedom.” She believes her daughter thinks it’s easier to have her do things for her.
However, Jazz thinks her parents should give her more respect. She also feels she should be able to do what she wants. But Jeanette doesn’t think her daughter is in the right mindset to be on her own.
I Am Jazz Celeb Struggles to Let Daughter Go
Jazz Jennings prepares for her first date in over four years. She is nervous about meeting her date in person. However, she is trying to be optimistic about it. She looks at Jeanette Jennings and says she hopes there won’t be anyone tracking her on her phone. Her mother replies, “I can’t hear you.”
Jeanette even asks her son, Sander Jennings, to go on a double date with his sister. He feels it’s about time his parents let Jazz go off on her own without having her brother come with her and spy on her. He thinks his parents should trust their daughter.
The I Am Jazz celeb is mad that her mother doesn’t trust her to go alone. She wants to be able to go on a date without her brother joining or having her parents showing up. She doesn’t want her parents to “hire” her brother as a security guard whenever she goes out on a date.
However, Jeanette finds it hard to let go when she has been so protective of her daughter for all these years. The TLC celeb knows that she is an enabler. But she feels that her daughter has dealt with so many obstacles. So, it’s made her want to put “a bubble around her and protect her.”
