Then, she checked herself out of the facility against Kevin’s advice. Elizabeth thinks she’s better because the sleeping pills are out of her system.

And she hasn’t slipped into a catatonic state — until recently. So now, we know Elizabeth’s trigger, and it’s the last thing General Hospital viewers expected…

Surprise Twist Ties to Webber Family on GH

Now it’s clear that the Peter August (Wes Ramsey) ordeal sparked trauma from Liz’s past. And it involves Elizabeth’s father, Jeff Webber (Richard Dean Anderson).

When she helped Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) hide Peter’s body, it stirred something in Liz. And it appears to have brought out memories that Elizabeth repressed as a child on General Hospital.

When Liz went down the staircase, she flashed back to her childhood and was calling out for her daddy. Then, when Finn found her, Liz was still the childhood version of herself, remind General Hospital recaps.

And she was asking who was there and what they wanted. So, there’s an excellent chance that she is suppressing a traumatic event from her childhood. And her memories are fighting to get out.

Liz’s Trauma Stems from Childhood on General Hospital

Recent events suggest that Elizabeth witnessed something awful as a kid. And getting rid of Peter caused the memories to resurface. Clearly, the memories are frightening and involve her dad, Jeff, and a mystery person.

Perhaps, Jeff got into a scuffle with someone all those years ago, ending in tragedy. It looks like someone was after Jeff, and he might have acted in self-defense. Then, Liz might’ve found the body the same way she found Peter on General Hospital.

Furthermore, she might’ve tried to protect her parents. So, she could’ve committed murder while trying to save her mom and dad. So often, children experience trauma that they block out. Then, the memories don’t resurface until adulthood.

Indeed, that seems to be the case with Elizabeth on General Hospital. Plus, with all the talk about her parents and her upbringing, it makes perfect sense.

Liz harbors a great deal of resentment towards her parents for never being there for her. But, once she finally unpacks her memories, she may realize they protected her.

So, soon, we may finally get to the bottom of her strange behavior on GH. And Elizabeth Webber’s life might never be the same once she remembers the truth on the ABC soap.
