Is Elizabeth Leaving ‘General Hospital’?
Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) will be off the General Hospital canvas for a while. She is on her way to Shadybrook to get to the root of her scary behavior on GH. And Liz’s absence has some viewers worried that her time on the ABC daytime drama could soon be over.
General Hospital: Elizabeth Webber off to Shadybrook
Currently, on GH, Elizabeth Webber knows that she is the one responsible for the scary attacks on her life. Of course, most of the events were harmless — just creepy.
However, Liz did burn down Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) art studio. Plus, she hit Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) over the head so hard he had a concussion.
Afraid that she will hurt one of her boys, Elizabeth is admitting herself into Shadybrook. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) suspects that Liz is sleepwalking.
But Liz fears it’s something more profound and stems from her grief over Franco’s death. Not only is Elizabeth going away, but she doesn’t want contact from Finn or anyone else. Liz says she needs to do this alone.
So, chances are General Hospital viewers may not get to follow Liz on this part of her journey. And Elizabeth’s departure has fans wondering if Becky Herbst is leaving General Hospital. She has a spoiler for the end of next week, but just one…
Becky Herbst Contract Up on GH?
Fan-favorite Elizabeth Webber may be at the end of her run on General Hospital. Currently, Becky may be in contract negotiations with the sudser. Typically, this type of stuff stays private. However, this is near the time of year that her contract needs to be renewed.

So, while Rebecca is in talks with the powers that be, Elizabeth may remain off-screen until they come to an agreement. No doubt, Liz needs to get answers about her behavior.
Plus, this is a perfect way to leave the door open for her return. So Liz can stay in Shadybrook for as long as it takes to get better. And until Becky irons out all the details of her GH contract.
Will Liz Return to General Hospital?
The beloved character, Elizabeth Webber, will likely remain on GH. Of course, there’s always a chance that Becky could leave. But the actress has stated before that General Hospital is her home, and she loves it.
And, of course, she fiercely loves her fans, who would be in an uproar if Liz left the show. Indeed, this wouldn’t be the first time.
Back in 2016, fans got word that Rebecca and the company were struggling to agree to her contract terms. And her fanbase was in a frenzy over the possibility of Elizabeth’s exit.

Also, when Becky was let go in 2011, her fans went so nuts that the company brought her back. So, she might be out for a bit if GH is putting her through the contract wringer again. But, chances are, Liz isn’t going anywhere permanently.
