Will Jeff Webber Return to Irritate Elizabeth – ‘General Hospital’ Recast Ahead?
General Hospital spoilers suggest that Dr. Jeff Webber (last played by Richard Dean Anderson), father of Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). will return to the ABC soap. This is not good news for Elizabeth but with multiple name drops of her estranged pop, it seems increasingly likely.
General Hospital: Who is Jeff Webber?
Jeff Webber appeared on GH from 1976-1981. He was once married to Dr. Monica Quartermaine (then Patsy Rahn). Monica had an affair with Jeff’s brother, Dr. Rick Webber (Chris Robinson). Jeff then cheated with Heather Grant (Robin Mattson). He eventually married Heather. She hid the identity of his son from him and eventually ended up in a sanitarium.
Jeff divorced Heather and left General Hospital. Then, he married a woman named Carolyn. They had two daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Webber (Serah D’Laine). In 1997, Jeff and his wife sent Elizabeth and her sister Sarah to live with their grandmother, Audrey Hardy (Rachel Ames) in Port Charles.

In 2016, GH did a retcon revealing Jeff Webber had a third daughter, Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig). Hayden’s mother, Naomi Dreyfuss (last played by Gigi Bermingham) had an affair with Jeff. That was revealed in revisionist history to allow Elizabeth to have a local sister.
Elizabeth Webber’s Strained Relationship with Her Family on GH
Elizabeth Webber feels abandoned by her parents because they were clearly never there for her. Recall, Liz Webber was raped as a teen. And it was Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) that took care of her. Liz’s parents did not return to Port Charles to help her. Since then, Elizabeth had three boys and multiple marriages.
Yet neither Jeff nor Carolyn showed up on GH. Then, Elizabeth and did not have a close sister relationship with Sarah when they both lived in Port Charles. They competed over many men, including Lucky. They have not kept up a relationship since Sarah left.

Hayden Barnes was like oil and water with Elizabeth when they met on General Hospital. The relationship changed when it was revealed that they were sisters. The two became close. Elizabeth recently started a relationship with Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
Finn is Hayden’s ex and the father of their daughter, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love). Hayden is missing but may return to GH at any time. Will Elizabeth’s relationship with Finn cause new problems between her and Hayden? And how will it change the dynamics if Jeff Webber is back on the scene?
How Will Elizabeth React if Her Father Jeff Returns to General Hospital?
Elizabeth’s close friend and Co-Chief of Staff at General Hospital, Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) received a phone call from Jeff Webber. Elizabeth was not at all happy when Terri told her this news. It seems Jeff called Liz to offer his condolences after the sudden death of her husband, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).
Other than that, there has been practically no contact between father and daughter. Characters tend to reappear on GH when they are talked about often. Now that Jeff had several mentions – along with Hayden – they both may make a comeback to the ABC soap.

Elizabeth Webber won’t welcome her father back with open arms but can their relationship be repaired? Jeff Webber has not walked the halls of GH in a long time. The character has only been played by one actor, but will likely be recast since Richard Dean Anderson quit accepting roles in 2013. We’ll update you with recast news or updates on bringing back Jeff.
