‘1000-lb Sisters’: Tammy Slaton In ICU – Almost Died Twice in One Week

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton shared a video about a scary experience when she was sick with an illness that almost killed her during a lengthy hospital stay. Thankfully, Tammy made it through this ordeal, which happened back in 2015. This was before her TLC show debuted. Here’s what happened back then.

Tammy Slaton, the 1000-lb Sisters star, says she woke up one day on April 22nd, 2015 and she couldn’t breathe. Then, she reveals she was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. But, while on the way there, she says was able to joke around with the EMTs that were taking care of her.

After arriving at the hospital, 1000-lb Sisters reality TV star reveals the hospital she went to was 20 minutes away from where she was living at the time. Then, she explains the process of getting her blood drawn. She says her veins tend to disappear on the medical staff, so she calls her veins “Houdini’s veins” and they also “roll.”

TLC Celeb Gives Insight Into Diagnosis

After getting x-rays and blood work done, the team of medical professionals working on Tammy Slaton diagnose her with pneumonia. So, Tammy says to her 1000-lb Sisters fans that her mother asked if it’s okay for her to leave, since Tammy’s getting admitted to the hospital. Then, Tammy thinks back to how she told her mother she was going to be fine.

Next, Tammy says shortly after her mother and her step-father left the hospital, she got transported to the ICU.

Tammy thinks back to her experience in the ICU. She tells her 1000-lb Sisters supporters in the video of how she remembers using the bathroom. Also, she goes into great detail about the type of bed she was laying on. She explains that it’s got the same material as a “hot air balloon.”

After relieving herself in the bathroom, she climbs back into bed. Not more than five minutes later, Tammy says she felt the urge to use the toilet again. Then, she says a female nurse came to help Tammy Slaton of 1000-lb Sisters to put an oxygen tube on.

Yet, after getting the tube on, Tammy says she doesn’t remember anything.

Star Reveals Two Near-Death Experiences

Tammy Slaton of 1000-lb Sisters says she “passed out” after her “oxygen dropped down to 17.” Then, she reveals she woke up three and a half weeks later on life support. Next, she claims she “about died that night.” And then, Tammy states a night or two later, she “about died again.”

The 1000-lb Sisters personality states she had both of these experiences in the same week. She says the “pneumonia” is what nearly ended her life because she “had it that bad.”

The 1000-lb Sisters favorite, Tammy Slaton, goes into detail about what she remembers when she woke up. She states it’s nighttime when she wakes up and there’s a little bit of light coming into her room. As she opens her eyes, she looks at a nurse who is tending to her in her hospital room.

Tammy Slaton says she had to re-learn how to walk and how to talk after spending time on life support. Then, she says she wasn’t even able to use a remote because of the time she spent on life support. The TLC star claims her body was weak and sore from all of the tubes that were in her because of her being on life support.

Thankfully, she recovered from these two scary near-death experiences. Fans are hopeful to see Tammy continue to make progress in Season 3 of 1000-lb Sisters.
