‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Mariah Copeland Shocks Abby Newman – Cutting Ties?
Young and the Restless spoilers hint Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) reached her limit as Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) makes a big request. The surrogate’s mental health suffered ever since she gave birth to little Dominic on the CBS soap opera. Now Mariah makes a move that has a big impact on Abby next week on Y&R.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Mariah Copeland Struggles – Abby Newman Glows
Mariah Copeland has developed what some would say may be an unhealthy connection to baby Dominic. While she was held captive, by Ben Rayburn (Sean Carrigan), little unborn Bowie was her lifeline. She felt as she was his mother and fought hard to keep him safe. Now that he ‘s been born, Mariah is forced to step back. And she must allow Abby Newman to move into that role on Young and the Restless.
Now that Mariah Copeland is free and at home, things are not easy for the pretty redhead. However, she finally has the realization Dominic is not her little “Bowie.” He is not her son but belongs to Abby. And she has to let go of the strong feelings she has felt. But Mariah seems “off”. Young and the Restless updates hint she is showing what may be signs of post-partum depression. And Abby is being weird with her.

Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) worries about her girlfriend. However, she is supportive and loving as Mariah struggles to manage her emotions. Young and the Restless spoilers show that Tessa asks Abby Newman for input on how they can help Mariah next week. Abby is being paranoid but this seems to be more about being a new mom and a little post-kidnapping stress.
But she also seems insecure about her surrogate’s bond with Dominic. However, that won’t stop her from working with Tessa to make things easier for the Jabot executive on Young and the Restless.
Abby Asks for a Big Commitment on Y&R
As Dominic’s christening day approaches, Abby Newman makes a choice that she hopes will help ease Mariah Copeland’s troubles. Abby asks if her surrogate will be the baby’s godmother on Young and the Restless. But instead of making things better, it only causes Mariah to feel like she’s been offered a consolation prize.

Young and the Restless spoilers tell us she accepts Abby’s offer. So, she puts on a brave face for the ceremony. But is hard for her to appear happy to Abby Newman and the others while she is tormented inside. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) agrees to be the godfather. He also is having trouble figuring out where he fits in Dominic’s life. However, the occasion leads Mariah to make a decision about the future.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Big Changes for Mariah
Now Mariah understands that Dominic is no longer her “Bowie.” So, she makes a decision that could have an impact on her future. After the ceremony, she asks to speak with Abby Newman alone. She will share her decision with Abby on Young and the Restless.
There are two ways this storyline could go. Mariah Copeland could tell Abby Newman she and Tessa are moving out of the Chancellor estate. It is simply too difficult to be around Dominic daily. She needs to move out and move on with her life. This would be the easy way out for the Young and the Restless writers.
However, a more juicy option would be if Mariah Copeland tells Abby she plans to move for custody of the newborn. Such an action would set up a lot of drama.
