‘Young and the Restless’: Does Ben Need the Baby Mariah’s Carrying to Save His Sick Son?

Young and the Restless spoilers ask if Ben Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) needs the unborn baby to save his ailing son – did Stitch kidnap the surrogate with an agenda? Young and the Restless Theory: Ben Rayburn Desperate for Baby in Mariah’s Belly?

In case you weren’t watching Y&R at the time – or forgot what happened with these exes… Stich and Abby Newman were expecting a baby. Then, Ben Rayburn’s son, Max Rayburn, rigged a wire to trip Abby down the stairs at the GCAC. The fall caused a miscarriage.

This led to the reveal on Young and the Restless that he had a brain tumor. Surgery was done to remove it, but it left Ben’s son with seizures. After their loss on Y&R, Stitch really wanted another baby with Abby, but she wasn’t ready to go there. Then, they divorced and he left town.

Now, on Young and the Restless, Stitch said his son’s condition was worse. Could it be that Ben wants Abby’s baby to try and save his sick son? We wondered in a recent Y&R article if Ben Rayburn had pulled a big switcheroo and was the biological father of Abby’s unborn child.

If he is, then it’s possible that Dr. Stitch Rayburn plans to use stem cells or cord blood from the bio-kid of himself and Abby to try and save his son on Young and the Restless. Some parents of children with cancer intentionally have another baby for that very same reason in real-life.

In other Y&R notes, Max’s bio-mom is dead from a car crash. So, a baby that’s half Ben’s is the best possible match. And if Stitch bribed someone to sub his DNA donation to replace Devon’s, then Mariah might be carrying his child. A baby that could help Max.

Y&R Spoilers: Surrogate Gone & Stitch Lurking – Hmmm….

On Young and the Restless, spoilers say that finally the people at the house are starting to wonder if Mariah is taking a break from the baby stress or might be in trouble. This week, Stitch Rayburn breaks the news that he took a job back at Genoa City Memorial as surgery chief.

So, Abby’s present husband is gone with no word when he’ll return. And her hunky ex-husband Ben Rayburn is worming his way back into her life. Young and the Restless spoilers have Ben getting her to go apartment hunting with him. And Stitch offered to help find Mariah.

It sure seems like Stitch Rayburn’s presence is constant these days. He’s full of questions about Mariah – and knows a stunning amount about Tessa Porter with no explanation for how he knows it. All this adds up to Ben being the top suspect in her disappearance.

Finally, on Young and the Restless, Abby and her donor, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) start worrying. And they might involve the law. Wait to see if Ben Rayburn tries to encourage them not to call the police. Stitch might offer to use his contacts to help to keep the GCPD out of it.

Did Young and the Restless Bring Back Ben to Backstab Him?

Y&R spoilers remind that Ben Rayburn said that his son Max Rayburn barely recognizes him anymore. It seems the after-effects of his brain condition are severe. So, is the CBS soap doing a wild plot where Stitch cooked up a desperate plot to save his son before he dies?

Young and the Restless spoilers wonder if Ben is so off the rails about his son that he did something crazy. Substituting his sperm so that the baby Mariah’s carrying would be genetically half his would be step one. Then kidnapping Mariah so he can deliver the baby (and steal it) would be step two.

And the final step would be using stem cells (likely from umbilical cord blood) to try and heal Max. It wouldn’t harm the baby – and it Mariah wouldn’t be in physical danger – since he’s a top doctor. These are things Stitch Rayburn might be telling himself on Young and the Restless.

If he did cook up this plot on Y&R, it would be interesting. It would also make him a bit insane. Any time this soap brings back a character back out of the blue, we need to be on high alert. They brought JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) back to be a wife beater.

And remember Alice Johnson (Tamara Clatterbuck)? She wasn’t mother of the year on Young and the Restless but she wasn’t awful. Still, they made her a human trafficker when they brought her back out of the blue. So, it remains to be seen if Stitch is about to get the “JT treatment”. Is Ben Rayburn still a good man – or has grief driven him to extremes? Did Stitch kidnap the still missing Mariah? What do you think?
