Abby Newman has been through several traumatic events, including her surrogate being kidnapped while carrying her baby and Chance being pursued dead.
However, through her sheer will, Abby was able to find her husband and bring him back home. However, it wasn’t smooth sailing after that. Chance has fought his PTSD symptoms with the help of a therapist.
But when Abby Newman needed him during her son’s health crisis, he struggled to be supportive. However, Devon Hamilton has been by her side throughout every ordeal she faced. Devon was her rock at times.

While all the tension in their friendship could have led to its demise, they have only grown closer. Abby and Devon have a deep bond based on their love of Dominic Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).

However, he will never share the bond of being a parent with Abby. As Dominic’s parents, she and Devon share a connection to the boy that Chance doesn’t feel. So Young and the Restless updates hint Chance gets up in his feelings when he sees Abby and Devon together in the park.

So, running into them unexpectedly brings those feelings to the surface. However, Chance leaves feeling like an outsider looking in rather than joining them. He doesn’t mention seeing the pair together. But he can’t deny their closeness bothers him.
