Will Devon Grab Full Custody if Chance Gets Worse on ‘Young and the Restless’?

Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) seems to be taking a larger role than Chance Chancellor‘s (Conner Floyd) on Young and the Restless. But if Chance doesn’t get a grip, will Devon make a move for more?

Chance Chancellor Refuses Professional Help — Is He a Ticking Time Bomb?

Although Chance is struggling, he isn’t doing all he can to pull it together. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) asked him to get counseling, but he won’t. Instead, he thinks he can sort this out on his own. But his wife remains worried.

It was Chance Chancellor that encouraged Abby to sign partial custody over to Devon Hamilton. He recognized he couldn’t give everything their baby needed. Meanwhile, his wife geared up to fight. Then, Chance stopped her on Young and the Restless.

So, it was down to Chance’s insistence that she signed the papers. And now, Devon’s calling himself “dad” when he first signed on to be a donor. But is there more to come? Will he want more than one night a week with his biological child?

Devon Hamilton Laid Groundwork for Full Custody on Young and the Restless

Thanks to Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) prodding him, Devon’s secured legal rights to Dominic. And he even got his last name added in with all of the baby’s many other legacy names. Clearly, he loves the little boy and is a good influence.

But he used Chance’s words against him. When Chance confided his struggles, Devon Hamilton used that to leverage Abby to make a deal. Now, she’s adjusting to her new reality. Chance wants to do date nights when their baby’s gone on Young and the Restless.

And over at Devon Hamilton’s place, everyone’s calling him dad and toasting him. Plus, he’s having a deluxe nursery built for “his son” as he’s calling him. All thoughts that he’s merely a donor are gone. He’s planning to be a very involved, hands-on parent. What’s next?

Will Devon Swoop in if Chance Can’t Step up on Y&R?

Chance Chancellor seems to be all over the place lately. He can’t decide if he wants to be a detective again. He seems untethered and uncomfortable in his own skin. And PTSD isn’t something that goes away on its own. What if he doesn’t get better?

Or what if he gets even gets worse? According to Young and the Restless Twitter, Abby found common ground with Devon. But that could all change if things go south. Will Devon send Amanda back to court for expanded rights to Dominic? Will he demand more time?

With the baby having a health crisis soon, it could drive a deeper wedge. And if Chance and Abby don’t step up — will he haul them into court? If things don’t get better, it could happen but this could start a Newman-Winters-Chancellor war. Unless Y&R abandons this PTSD storyline, more drama should start soon.
