‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Chance Chancellor Still MIA – Donny Boaz Gone for Good?
Young and the Restless spoilers ask if Donny Boaz will ever return to the role of Chance Chancellor. He left Genoa City months ago and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) needs her husband more than ever. Especially now that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is officially missing on the CBS soap opera. However, it seems the talented actor found a ton of other jobs and may never return.
Young and the Restless Casting: Where is Chance Chancellor?
Chance Chancellor mysteriously left town on Y&R for a secret mission. He didn’t even have time to say goodbye to his family. The undercover police officer did call home occasionally. However, those interactions have also stopped. Chance has been offscreen for months.
Young and the Restless updates hint that his wife needs him. She has faced the entire surrogacy situation alone. She decided to move forward while Chance was away. But Abby never guessed that he would be gone so long. With it becoming more apparent that Mariah is in danger, Chance Chancellor’s skills as a detective could be beneficial.

Abby has been strong throughout this ordeal. But she is overwhelmed. Her unborn child is missing, and the due date is growing near. If the surrogate isn’t found soon, Mariah may have the baby while being held against her will hint Young and the Restless news.
And if Chance Chancellor isn’t back soon, Abby could renew her romance with Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan). Plus, Stitch has behaved strangely since he returned to town. And he may be behind the sketchy Mariah kidnapping. However, Carrigan recently extended his contract with Young and the Restless – so a reunion for Stitch and Abby could be in the works.
Donny Boaz Appears in Other Projects – Y&R Casting Update
When Donny Boaz’s character, Chance Chancellor, left Young and the Restless, he was vocal about his desire to return. He also clearly stated that it was not his choice to leave the role of Chance. A faction of fans also wanted the actor back as Chance. An online petition was even created to let the writers and network know how badly he is missed as Chance Chancellor.
So far, it seems it has fallen on deaf ears. Since Chance Chancellor left town and Donny Boaz left the show, the actor’s lined up an impressive slate of new projects. He will appear in the sports drama All American, which airs on the CW. Plus, he currently has 15 other new projects ranging from completed, to pre-production to post-production. So, Boaz is clearly in high demand.
Will Young and the Restless Recast Chance?
It seems Donny Boaz will not return to play Chance Chancellor. However, is a recast of Chance in the works? Or will he die or go missing off-screen? At least 10 other actors have filled the spot. So a recast is not off the table. And there’s been chatter from a source behind the scenes that the soap’s been looking for a new actor.

There is still a story to tell for the newly married couple. It didn’t make sense when the Young and the Restless writers sent Chance Chancellor away. He’d just married Abby Newman. And she began the process of starting a family. So, the time is right for the return of Chance. Perhaps he could be the one to save the day and find Mariah before the child is born.
Keep watching the CBS sudser to see if Chance returns to Abby Newman with a new actor in the role. Remember, Melissa -Ordway’s hubby, Justin Gaston, stepped in for a few days. Perhaps he’d drop in for another arc – or as a permanent recast. Or Donny Boaz could makes a surprise return as Chance Chancellor on Y&R. We’ll see.
