‘Young and the Restless’ Prediction: Chance Chancellor Back Soon – Abby’s Hubby Finds Baby Drama?
Young and the Restless predictions hint Chance Chancellor is returning to town soon. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) mentions her MIA husband often. It seems the scribes are setting the stage for his return on the CBS soap opera. The big question is will there be a new face in the role or is Donny Boaz returning to the soap?
Young and the Restless Predictions: Chance Chancellor Returning With New Face?
Donny Boaz’s release from his contract confused fans. It didn’t make a lot of sense since he was in the middle of a storyline that was moving center stage. Newly married, he and Abby were starting their family. But then the Y&R writers abruptly decided to send him away.
However, that may all change soon on Young and the Restless. Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) and Abby confronted Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell). They demanded to know where Chance is and when he will return home. But she doesn’t want to endanger the mission he’s on.
Chance Chancellor sent texts and made phone calls from off-screen. However, that is not the same as being present in Abby’s life while she goes through the surrogacy process. But he should be there to share in all of the milestones of Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) pregnancy.

Young and the Restless spoilers wonder if the writers are planning on Abby being a single mother to her baby born via surrogacy. So, will Chance Chancellor return? And if so, will it be Donny Boaz in the role? First, it does look like Chance might be back.
However, it doesn’t look like Donny will be back in the part. A quick glance at Mr. Boaz’s work slate on IMDB tells you that he’s jam-packed with projects since he left the CBS soap and for the foreseeable future. He’s got no time to look back at Young and the Restless.
Plus, there is a signal from the daytime drama that they might be casting for a replacement.
Abby Newman Worries Husband Won’t Return on Y&R – CBS Recast?
Now, Abby works to keep a stiff upper lip and is always positive when she is around Mariah. However, she worries that Chance may never return. Of course, he is on a dangerous mission. Of course, the writers may decide that Chance is gone for good on Young and the Restless.
But, if you look at a recent casting call from the network, there’s a sign they might be looking for a replacement. A Y&R casting notice went out in early April for a 30-ish male that fits the description of Chance Chancellor. Keywords from the casting call read like Chance:
- All-American
- Physically fit
- Attractive
- Adventurish
- Playful
- White, mid-30s
- Tough-minded
- Jaded but optimistic

The name assigned to this supposed new character is “Derek” but Young and the Restless rarely reveals real character names when they go through the casting process. And if they don’t recast him, they might kill him off or leave him presumed dead/missing.
But that seems strange given the elaborate wedding and surrogate plans to end it on Y&R. Scoops hint the role of Chance is likely filled by a new actor. And he returns in time for the baby to be born. So, wait to see on word of a recast to fill Donny Boaz’s shoes.
Young and the Restless Updates: Happily Ever After for Abby & Chance
Y&R spoilers hint that Abby and her hubby Chance will happily welcome their new baby together. The couple will finally live together under one roof at the Chancellor’s estate. The big question is whether he’ll make it home in time to see Mariah give birth.
There’s rarely a birth on Young and the Restless that’s uncomplicated. And this one is already so complex with Abby’s egg and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) donating sperm since Chance Chancellor didn’t have any swimmers.
Recent updates indicate that Mariah makes a confession soon. It is possible that the pretty redhead is having second thoughts about giving up the baby. While she is not biologically related to the child she has carried it since its inception on Young and the Restless.
To complicate things further, Devon may decide he wants to take an active role in the baby’s life. Y&R viewers raised concerns with the situation. So while Chance Chancellor is predicted to return to GC shortly, he will no doubt come home to lots of drama brewing on the soap.
