‘Young and the Restless’ Comings & Goings: Summer Newman Says Final Farewell – Hunter King Gone for Good?

Young and the Restless comings and goings see Summer Newman says her sad goodbyes to Genoa City – but does that mean Hunter King is off the CBS soap for good? On Monday, June 28, her final adios is to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). He once again, unsuccessfully, begs her to stay. But it seems like the conspiracy of two schemers to shove her aside worked on Y&R.

Young and the Restless Comings and Goings: Sad Summer Newman Leaves Town

Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) plan succeeded it seems. Because Summer Newman’s jetting out of town with her dad Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) this week. Already, Nick and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) helped her pack while suspecting there’s more to the story.

But Nick will support Summer’s decision and see her safely settled no matter why she’s leaving. And mom Phyllis promises to visit soon on Young and the Restless. On her goodbye tour, Summer sees Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and Mariah Copeland at Crimson Lights. And she tells her younger sister, “Ciao,” which means see you later. They exchange “I love yous” then Faith leaves.

Of course, Mariah rips into Summer Newman for leaving Kyle because he has a son. At Society, Summer runs into Sally and Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman). In private, she recommends to Lauren that she promote Sally into her old job. So, it looks like this Y&R plot is working out exactly as Sally wanted as she’s getting her dream job.

Young and the Restless comings and goings see Summer’s last stop with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) who wishes her luck. She asks he help Kyle accept that she’s gone. Her final stop is the Ranch, where she finds Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and her grandparents. They wish her luck and will see her soon. They already have a trip planned to Florence for a concert.

New Opportunities for Heiress in Italy on Y&R

Fans know that due to Sally’s dirty work, Summer was offered an incredible opportunity in Italy. It is a dream job that will help her career tremendously. However, Summer Newman wouldn’t have accepted the position if it weren’t for Tara blackmailing her. She gave into Tara’s threat to take away Kyle’s son if she didn’t leave the country immediately on Young and the Restless.

So when Sally allied with sneaky Tara joined together, they were a force to be reckoned with on Young and the Restless. Summer had no idea what hit her. She was blindsided by it all. And shocked by Tara’s willingness to use her son to get what she wants. Tara thinks she’ll win Kyle’s heart if his fiancee is out of the picture. With Summer exiting, is this the end of Hunter King’s run on Y&R? Remember she’s come and gone before.

Young and the Restless Update: Skyle Over for Now

Y&R comings  and goings see the stage set for the writers to end Hunter King’s storyline as Summer Newman. They have a heartfelt scene at The Grand Phoenix loaded with tears. Kyle argues that the love they share is too strong to throw away. So he promises she will grow to love Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) as much as he does.

However, Summer Newman won’t budge. Leaving will allow her to live the life she wants. She insists they have no future, and she is sure he will move on to find someone new. Summer tells Kyle that he must accept her decision. It’s best for them both. In tears, they kiss goodbye. She slips her engagement ring into his hand as she walks out the door. Devastated, Kyle watches her leave on Young and the Restless.

But after that goodbye scene on Young and the Restless, Kyle runs into his uncle. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) encourages his nephew to chase her down and make one last pitch to stay before she gets on the plane. Pull out the Kleenex as this last episode with Summer promises to be a real tear-jerker on the CBS sudser. If Kyle can’t sway her, this is the end of “Skyle”, for now at least…

So, is Hunter King off the daytime drama for good? For now, yes. Forever? Likely not. The actress reportedly has a prime time comedy booked and some other projects. And she’s come and go from Y&R now and then before but always returned. Plus, if she doesn’t come back, how will Tara and shady Sally be made to pay for their devious plot? Wait to see.
