‘Young and the Restless’ Spoiler: Is Summer Newman Leaving – Will Hunter King Exit ‘Y&R’?

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Will Hunter King Exit as Summer Newman?
Hunter King landed on of the lead roles in the new ABC primetime series Prospect. The comedy is set in the old West. The program was scheduled to begin shooting in October of 2020. However, the COVID 19 pandemic pushed out the start date. So, the pilot was put on hold. Now with things starting to get back to normal, in Hollywood, the show may be gearing back up to start production.
Young and the Restless spoilers tease Hunter King might have a tough time working for a CBS daytime drama and an ABC primetime series as they’ll shoot in vastly different locations. However, the nighttime comedy is just a pilot right now. So, that means they’ll shoot just one standalone episode to try and market. If it’s not “picked up” then the series dies on the vine.
So, while Hunter might need time away from Young and the Restless to tape the pilot, she wouldn’t know right away if she’d need to be away long-term until they get word if it’ll be a regular series. But it sure seems like the soap is setting the stage for at least a short-term exit for Summer Newman. And it could be so that Hunter King can go tape the pilot episode of Prospect.

Kyle: Ashland showed up, so, no, not really. The paternity results are in. They're being delivered to the house as we speak.

Summer & Kyle Abbott Romance in Trouble on Y&R
Recently, “Sklye” has seen a lot of drama on Young and the Restless. Ever since the name Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) fell from Theo Vanderway’s (Tyler Johnson) lips, there’s been trouble. Even though Kyle didn’t cheat on her, since they were split, it’s a problem for their current relationship. This week, they get back paternity results on Tara’s son.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is confirmed as Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) father. And that inflamed Tara’s estranged husband, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) on Young and the Restless. He’ll accuse his wife of adultery in their divorce documents. Already, Summer Newman put her wedding on hold. But with Kyle soon named in the Locke divorce, Summer might need to get away.
Over the last few years, Summer’s matured a lot. But is she ready for an instant family? Playing mommy to Kyle’s love child may be more than she can bear on Young and the Restless. Plus, Summer might not want to be part of what’s about to be a very public scandal. So, that job that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Ashland are luring Summer Newman with might be a real temptation.

Young and the Restless Scoops: Tara Makes A Move on Kyle?
Kyle’s baby mama said she plans to stay in GC permanently. With Elizabeth Leiner on contract at Y&R, that’s another sign that Summer Newman might leave town. Recent Young and the Restless updates hint Tara turns to Kyle for support during her messy divorce. Could this be the beginning of a renewed romance for the former lovers?
Ashland warned the Abbotts about Tara. She showed up to ruin Summer’s engagement party on Young and the Restless. That information could have waited for a couple of hours. Now that Kyle knows he is Harrison’s father, it’s natural he’ll get closer to the mother of his child. Plus, Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) thrilled to be bonding with his grandson and Tara.
So, that’s another point in favor of Summer’s rival on Young and the Restless. Kyle is smitten with his son and all-in on being a dad. That means he’ll be with Tara constantly. And it’ll diminish his time with Summer Newman. Will it also lessen his commitment to her? A Tara-Kyle pairing could easily happen. That could leave his fiancee heartbroken with a reason to leave town for a minute.
Sally Spectra Plots to Get Nemesis Sent Away Per Y&R News
Young and the Restless information shows Sally plots to get revenge on Summer Newman. She and Ash work on their plan to offer the pretty blonde an incredible job. It would take her out of the country for quite some time. From the sound of it, it will be very hard for Summer to turn down this opportunity to further her career. Especially if she winds up heartbroken.
What better way to explain Hunter King’s absence from Genoa City? The writers appear to be laying the foundation for an exit from Young and the Restless. The writers might be setting up a short exit so Hunter King can shoot the pilot. Then, Summer can return. And if the pilot’s approved, they can write her a longer-term exit. They did this before when she worked on Life in Pieces.
And although Hunter left before, she always returns. So, this might just be another bump in the road for the Y&R lovebirds. Keep watching the CBS soap for more signs of Hunter King’s possible exit as Summer Newman. But she always comes back in the end – and always comes back to Kyle… So that’s a silver lining for Skyle fans.
