‘Young and the Restless’ Comings & Goings: Changes Ahead for Adam & Victoria in New Episodes

Young and the Restless comings and goings promise cast changes related to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and his big sister Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). We’ve heard that Y&R hopes to get back to work in early July, but there’s one obstacle to that. Check out the latest below.

When Will Young and the Restless Resume Filming New Episodes – July or Later?

As we reported this week, Y&R’s aiming for a July 6 start, but there’s a hiccup. Before they can shoot new scenes of Adam Newman or Victoria Newman, they must meet all the safety guidelines. Already, its sister soap B&B did one day of shooting then had to shut down again.

They had to fine-tune some aspects to meet COVID rules. Remember, Young and the Restless is a much larger show to film with more cast, crew, and sets. So, they’ve got to do more extensive preparations. As of now, we’ve heard the 6th of July is an optimistic goal because of one barrier.

An insider at CBS daytime said the cast and crew unions haven’t signed off on Young and the Restless‘ plan to resume filming yet. If they can take care of that this week or next, then they may hit their goal. We’ll update you here as info leaks out from behind the scenes at Y&R.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle)

Y&R Comings & Goings: Life Changes for Victoria Newman

When Young and the Restless films brand new episodes, there are casting changes around Victoria. She’s just got the CEO seat, but Victoria Newman’s got no guy in her life. That changes soon as we’ve heard Y&R was busy finding a new man for her.

However, that’s not the only Young and the Restless ins and outs news linked to Victoria. One of the rules for safety on set involves no children for the foreseeable future. That means we won’t see Victoria Newman in scenes with Johnny or Katy.

So, we’d expect Young and the Restless to focus on Victoria at Newman Enterprises at first. Then, scenes of Victoria Newman with this new mystery man. But, don’t expect scenes with her children – or her parents. The safety guidelines put the kibosh on very young and older actors.

Young and the Restless: Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)

Young and the Restless Comings and Goings Tied to Adam Newman

While Young and the Restless’ Adam Newman has a secure spot on the CBS soap, some other characters around him could remain on hiatus. First, there’s Adam and Victoria’s dad Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). The new COVID guidelines might delay actors over age 65.

Second, we shouldn’t see Adam with his son Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) on Young and the Restless for a while. In addition to older and younger actors involved with Adam Newman, there are extras to consider. Alyssa Montalvo (María DiDomenico) also shouldn’t be back again.

Even though there’s more to come on Young and the Restless about Adam as a child, killing her dad, Alyssa should exit as part of trimming extras. We also know Adam’s in scenes with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) soon and his brother Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

So, despite some Y&R casting changes around Victoria Newman and also Adam Newman, things look hopeful for a start in early July. But first, they need union reps to sign off on their COVID plan. So, fingers crossed, they lock that down soon so they can resume filming on the soap.
