Top 5 Worst ‘Big Brother’ Showmances

Showmances and Big Brother go hand-in-hand. Some are worse than others. But relationships are common on reality shows. People bond when they have to spend so much time together. Host Julie Chen told Entertainment Tonight that the heart wants what the heart wants. She added that more marriages have come from showmances on Big Brother over the years than from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

The latest BB couple to become engaged is Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson from BB19. But let’s not forget that many showmances start with cheating couples.

Not all of the showmances ended in marriage or lasting relationships.  Here are five of the worst showmances viewers have seen over the years.

1. Roddy Mancuso and Chiara Berti (Big Brother 3)

Many long-term BB fans agree. The showmance between Roddy Mancuso and Chiara Berti is one of the worst. It was no doubt that Chiara had fallen in love with Roddy. However, he wasn’t that interested in her. Roddy flirted with others women in the house in front of Chiara. He ended the relationship before she was evicted. Chiara was hurt and embarrassed to have been dumped while millions of people around the world watched her on television.

2.  Mike Malin and Erika Landin (Big Brother 7)

Mike Malin and Erika Landin knew each other before appearing on the show. Even so, Mike didn’t treat Erika with respect.  His fake showmance was to help his game. It worked because he did win the $500,000 prize.  After Erika was evicted, she was humiliated after seeing the nasty comments Mike had made about her.

3. Jessie Godderz had three showmances (Big Brother 11)

The buff Mr. Pectacular, Jessie Godderz, was involved in three showmances. He holds the record for having more showmances than any other contestant.

Jessie spent most of the time with Lydia Tavera even though he made out with Michelle Noonan and Natalie Martinez.  It seemed that he was more into Natalie.  However, he did not vote for her at the end of the show.

4.  McCrae Olson and Amanda Zuckerman (Big Brother 15)

McCrae Olson and Amanda Zuckerman turned off a lot of fans by having sex everywhere they could throughout the house. They called themselves “McCranda.” The showmance lasted while they were on television, but they separated six months after their season ended. McCrae admitted he was only using Amanda to get ahead in the game.

McCrae put his game over love. He posted a letter detailing his regret and remorse for the way he treated Amanda. Besides being in a showmance on Big Brother, he was in a relationship back home.
