Will ‘Young and the Restless’ Leave Fans Hanging & Not Reveal Mariah’s Kidnapper?

Young and the Restless spoilers have Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) found soon but so far, she’s got no idea who kidnapped her. That means, even when she’s rescued she can’t ID her kidnapper. Will the CBS soap play an awful trick on fans and not reveal the perpetrator? Or float out some false leads before the big reveal?

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Mariah Copeland’s Captivity Ends Soon

This week, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) corners his favorite suspect for any crime, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). And he’ll grill Adam about Mariah Copeland’s disappearance. Rey’s wasting time asking him about Mariah since he’s got no motive to kidnap Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) daughter even though he stole infant Faith many years ago.

With Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) upset and Adam concerned on Sharon’s behalf, the Newman’s put their resources to work as well, per Young and the Restless spoilers. And Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) works with Rey. If anyone can use the text messages to figure out where Mariah’s cell phone is, it’s hacker guy Kevin. Then, they’ll get a lead.

Meanwhile, Mariah sits in that windowless room, freaking out more each day. She’s getting adequate food and vitamins, but is climbing the walls on Young and the Restless. Spoilers say she starts to unravel this week. But it looks like by the end of next week, the searchers find Mariah. By then, Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) is also involved.

Y&R Spoilers: Signs Point to Stitch – But Did Writers Pivot?

As of now, Young and the Restless warning signs point to Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan). They’ve confirmed Ian Ward (Ray Wise) is still in prison, so he’s out of the running. And Stitch has been in town, creeping around Abby and Mariah Copeland. Plus, he’s been lying about the new job and why he’s in town. He looks altogether sketchy.

Young and the Restless originally brought Sean Carrigan back for a short arc. Then they extended his run. So, perhaps Y&R intended him to be the kidnapper and are now pivoting. With Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) gone, perhaps they want to re-spark Stitch and Abby rather than recast the role of her husband.

Young and the Restless: Ben Rayburn - Stitch (Sean Carrigan) - Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes)

That would be awkward if the surgeon’s kidnapped Mariah Copeland, her surrogate. Of course, Young and the Restless could still leave him the kidnapper but have get away with it since Mariah doesn’t know who stuffed her in that room. Mariah’s only seen the camera above the door and been given food through the dumbwaiter.

Are Young and the Restless Writers Undecided?

There’s also the chance that Y&R writers haven’t decided who they want the culprit to be. Sometimes soap writers launch a plot with an idea in mind for how to start it but not how to end it and they see how it goes. Then they gauge fan reaction. So, Young and the Restless might have gone that route and are still writing the end to the story.

If so, that would allow Young and the Restless spoilers writers to drop clues about Stitch then take the story another way. Of course, the reveal might not make much sense in the end, but it could happen that way. However, there’s a glimmer of hope since Mariah Copeland actress Camryn Grimes said the reveal of the culprit comes soon.

However, it could be that Young and the Restless reveals Mariah’s twisted kidnapper to viewers but not to the characters on the show. So, the culprit may get away with it for a while longer, but the fans are in on it as the story progresses. Keep watching the CBS daytime drama to see who took Mariah Copeland or if the soap makes us wait even longer to find out who did it.
